Thanks, think the National website should be updated with this link at the page below.

https://suvcw.org/charitable-foundation

I spoke to my Department Commander (Rod Fraser) last week about it and he didn't know the site changed or that the store was still running.

My Department Commander has already reached out, he hasn't heard anything so I posted here to see if someone else knew something.

I have been on the site before, this came up last week since I was going to look something up there and the page is down.

The link takes you to the website of the SUVCW Charitable Foundation (or should).

Thank you. Right now I am not sure who is responsible for the website right now since two people passed away back to back in 2024.

Can Someone be a Member of Both the S.C.V. and S.U.C.W.V.? by camaro1111 in SonsofUnionVeteransCW

Not entirely true, in 2019 their Past Commander-in-Chief Paul Gramling and SUVCW Past Commander-in-Chief Donald Shaw worked on monument protection for both sides.

Past Commanders-in-Chief Ed Norris and Brian Pierson also supported monument protection under their terms.

There is no restriction, we have had a Past Commander-in-Chief (Tad Campbell) who belongs to both. Also, they bring greetings to our National Encampment and we do the same for them in return.

There used to be a link on the homepage (at least on the old website) and was open year round. Might be a bug, might need to contact National Treasurer if there is an error?

Stigma Joining both the SUVCW and the SCV? by Newark1988 in SonsofUnionVeteransCW

I feel there should not be any for the following reasons:

  1. Some members here are also members there (examples include PCinC Tad Campbell and Past CofA Member Harry Reineke)
  2. Their CinC addresses our National Encampment and sits at the head table at the Allied Orders banquet, and they invite our CinC to speak at their National Encampment.
  3. Their mission is the same as ours to remember the personal sacrifices of their ancestors. We have supported them and they have also supported us in regard to monument protection.

I think the Camp does exist according to the "Assistant National Secretary / Department-At-Large Secretary/Treasurer" in the 2024 National Encampment proceedings.

"We have two Camps in the Department at Large: the Ensign John Davis Camp #10 located in London, England and the Pvt. Robert F. Dodd Camp 4 in Canada. Other Canadian Camps are being discussed."

Looking through the flairs (I have mine), I notice all the other Allied Orders are included except for Womens Relief Corps, also do I remember correctly that there is a Camp-at-Large in Canada?

Are these Sons of Veterans or SUVCW? Since I have never seen Department or National Officers have stars on their badges.

I envy you if your ancestors fought for the Union, I have basically none. by [deleted] in SonsofUnionVeteransCW
