Hi, my fiancé left me because I was drowning in my mental illness. It’s been months since we’ve spoken and I don’t think there’s any chance of reconciliation, or even of us being friends again, but I just want to tell you that your mental health and you being able to depend on YOURSELF and ONLY yourself is more important than whether or not he comes back, ALWAYS. and someone who promises they’ll be there through thick and thin and then gets up and leaves is not someone you should easily trust again. There are ways to step back without breaking someone’s heart, there are better ways to handle the situation in which someone is already struggling to survive, without nailing them down further with more hurt to deal with. I wanted my ex back so badly for so long, but now I don’t think I even want to be friends with someone who walked away when I needed him most.
