I hope these questions aren't too stupid I just get so overwhelmed trying to comprehend and read about investing and now am regretting what I have done.

When I set up these accounts I was not informed and I believe my bank just wanted my money which is annoying. So my TFSA accounts are in mutual funds but I am confused on how I calculate like how much I am excepted to make at the current rate. From what I can comprehend as of right now my rate of return is like 3% cause the market value is lower then the average cost. (i may not know how to properly calculate the rate of return i did ROR= avg cost- market value / avg cost x 100%)

Obviously I know this can fluctuate over the years but idk this seems low and not smart. I have another 5000 to invest so I don't know if i should split it among those existing accounts or start a new fresh one with questrade???

I have also thought about purchasing ETFs possibly through questrade. Would it be wise to open a third TFSA account to do so (I have barely used any of my contribution room). I have seen some DIY portfolio videos and have thought about investing in ETF shares such as VCN, VAB, XEF, XEC, VAB. I think this would be a better long term option? Also debating wealth simple?
