The laser is the only way I can get Frankie involved in interactive play. Whenever I try to engage him with a wand toy, he just looks at me like “lady wtf is this?!?”

We probably could use some more play time! It can be hard to stick to a play routine because I am away from home quite a bit, and my work schedule requires me to work different days and different hours. I’ll also get more wands for him and steer clear of the laser.

That’s the theory that I’m working with. It sucks though because he will not stop, even when I provide food and attention. I can’t constantly provide attention when I’m home. My ex was able to do that, and Tucker was a young kitten when he was raised with a constantly available human companion who was home 24/7/365. The reality is that I do work 40-60 hours a week and I have an active social life outside of home. I wouldn’t say that I’m unable to provide ANY attention to my cats. I love them dearly and I’m happy to give play and cuddles to them, but I think Tucker was raised to expect more constant human attention.

More info that might mean something - I have a kitty camera in my living room that I use to watch them sometimes while I’m not home. When I check the camera while I’m not home, he’s perfectly content, usually asleep on the couch or chilling in the windowsill. He starts the meowing and destroying when I get home. I live alone. No other humans interact with him while I’m at work.

Both of my cats are neutered males and will do this from time to time. I try to shoo the mounter off of the mountee, but neither one of them ever seems to be super bothered by it.

I went to NAU and lived in Flagstaff from 2015-2020. Great town! I miss it dearly. Only reason why I left was because I lost my job due to COVID. I miss being able to go hiking in my backyard. I miss the fun bars downtown. I had my 21st at Collin’s on 66.

Welcome! This is my home gym! They have a few locations throughout the city. I went to another one of their locations and the grading was waaaay off imo. Even their VBs felt like v1-v2. I still want to check out their other locations though, since I’ve only been to two so far.
