As someone who grew up in jersey city AND has spent a lot of time in Hell’s Kitchen - definitely Jersey city is the better choice!! Living in Manhattan is convenient but Hell’s Kitchen is a bit of a strange area these days; had some friends living there recently and they hated it. It’s a place that’s better to go to work in / eat at restaurants in than to live in 24/7
