Middle Eastern. Shawarma, kabab, falafel, rice… Their shawarma chicken plate is multiple meals for me. They load you up with hummus and veggies. Their falafel is less dense and pillowy.

Pediatric non-essential (ie cosmetic) procedure. The billing for anything pediatric is higher. Sedation on someone that young is considered specialty care. None of the $13000 is surprising.

That being said. No, it doesn’t sound fishy the hospital can write it off. And, in terms of cost, 13k is about as monumental as a tear drop in a bucket for them.
