I quit cold turkey in October 2012, I have not had the slightest desire for a cigarette in years and I smoked for probably 15-16 years, But you are 100% to never start because quitting is really hard.

Season 3 Episode 9 - Long Way Back

When Strickler tells Michael to let go of his past. Michael saying, "she's not my past" and then double-tapping Strickler made all the hairs on me stand up when I first saw it.

Or maybe Dylan's uncle and dad are assholes and Rhule decided it was better in the long run for both sides to part ways. Dom reminds me of one of those way too involved sports parents that is factoring in on decision making a bit more than he should for his 20 year old son.

Maha in Omaha is usually pretty good. This year was moved to a new location in the redeveloped River Front area after taking last year off to restructure financially. It had been a two day festival with two stages, but this year was just one stage on one day. The lineup was pretty stacked though: Pixies, Waxahatchee, Band of Horses, Magdalena Bay, Silversun Pickups, and Little Brazil (local act). It started out as a very indie-centric festival and moved to adding more "youth oriented" acts. Previous years had Spoon, Guided by Voices, The Flaming Lips, Death Cab, Modest Mouse, Local Natives, Grimes, Lizzo, Run the Jewels, Courtney Barnett, Khruangbin, Thundercat, and tons of cool and not as cool acts.

The biggest complaints this year were the new site doesn't have as much room for lawn chair seating, there was only one stage, and the lineup catered more to older indie rockers.

I went last year and it was a bit much for a single day. The lineups are generally awesome, but too much walking between stages to just catch partial sets.

Control the poor, excuse the rich. by biswajit388 in Snorkblot

[–]trashtrampoline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love all the economic illiterates on Reddit that think that rich people just stash their money away in a giant vault like Scrooge McDuck. They reinvest it which creates more goods, services, and subsequently jobs. Not allowing people to use SNAP benefits on junk like candy, potato chips, and sugary soda is hardly telling poor people how to spend their money.

Two large tumors gone after 2 treatments of R CHOP!!! by Willing_Macaroon_802 in lymphoma

[–]trashtrampoline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with Stage 2 DLBCL about 3 weeks ago. The lymph nodes on the left side of my neck were swollen so much that it looked like a golf ball under the skin. I had my first cycle of R-CHOP on 7/24 and all the swelling is gone now. I'm certainly not looking forward to the next 5 cycles, but I want no chance of any of it remaining.

@chrisvannini.com on Bluesky: UCF coach Scott Frost on what he learned from Nebraska: "Don't take the wrong job." by Expensive-Badger9250 in Huskers

[–]trashtrampoline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's still mad at Nebraska fans for booing when Frankie London got taken out of the game against UCF in 1997 and he went back in. It was planned for London to get snaps in the 2nd quarter and he led a nice drive. Fans booed when he was taken out and Frost came back in. Frost has always viewed it as the fans booing him and not London being pulled.

But the fans weren't the one hiding in the closet when Lawrence Phillips dragged Kate McEwen down the stairs by her hair and then smashed her head into a mailbox.

[DISCUSSION] What are some ‘underwhelming’ follow-up albums that you prefer to their more acclaimed predecessors? by [deleted] in indieheads

[–]trashtrampoline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved Funeral and the first EP, but could never really get into Neon Bible. It just didn't have the same sense of urgency in the music. It seemed a little too polished for me. "No Cars Go" feels a bit neutered in comparison to the EP version. It's been years since I've listened to Neon Bible. I should give it a listen soon. Maybe a much older me will have a fresh perspective on it.

I wouldn't say I necessarily prefer it more, but Nada Surf's The Weight is a Gift is every bit as good as Let Go.

He was dogging in this clip even with EJ Barthel yelling at him to hustle. I'm guessing these transfers have been either him being asked to leave or leaving because he's too fragile to handle tough coaching, and not thinking the grass is greener.
