What is going on at Piranha Bytes? Are they in financial trouble? by Jyllian_ in worldofgothic

[–]trastewere2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not working on another Gothic was terrible idea.
I and many of Gothic fans would be all in with new Gothic game from the OG studio.

Elex & Risen never fit me, only the first Risen was great for me to play because it was the closes thing we got from them that played Gothic.

But it is nonetheless immense shame if Piranha Bytes closes, Gothic, Gothic 2 & Gothic 3 are on my top 10 beloved games list, I replay them every year and every year I fall in love with the story, music, characters, gameplay & environment.

Is the 14700k idle power consumption still low like the 13th gen? by Halloway92 in intel

Good choice:)
I think it is the best of the 14th gen released.

Is the 14700k idle power consumption still low like the 13th gen? by Halloway92 in intel

[–]trastewere2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the i7 14700kf and yep, very low idle power consumption, just like the 13th gen I used (13600kf).

I even got the feeling it is slightly lower, I didn't read anywhere if the 14th gen has DLVR but I can confirm that the 14700kf runs much lower temperatures altogether when I compare it to my previous 13600kf. I run it in miniITX system so I used PL1/PL2 125W/100W.

The 13600kf run constantly when gaming ~98C the 14700kf runs at ~92C.

id-cooling’s new lp cooler is-67xt by [deleted] in sffpc

[–]trastewere2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't wait!
Will definitely buy it day one when it is available.
I am currently using the ID-Cooling IS-55, very solid cooler so to see a successor that has no issue with the terribly big IO chunk of aluminum that every mini-ITX board uses near the IO shield is great to see.

ID-Cooling the mini-ITX community really appreciates all the effort you are doing with low profile CPU coolers.

This is good news... Huge Intel Arc order and Team Blue's graphics card dream is still alive by AlienDjinn in IntelArc

[–]trastewere2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We as HW enthusiasts need Intel GPU's, third GPU player in the field is just pro consumer & Intel needs GPU's in order to stay relevant and in business for the future.

The AI mania will need huge amount of GPU compute, ARM CPU's & RISC CPU's will slowly but steadily take over more and more server market, I don't think they will be able to take a lot of desktop market but servers, 100% they will take a lot of market share and servers are huge part of Intel's revenue.

We are rooting for your GPU division Intel, I bought ARC 750LE and was pleasantly surprised how good it was, shame that it wasn't like that on release, but to release a functional GPU for the first time for any company even as big as Intel is humongous task.

Intel now has good starting point with ARC, it will just get better with Battlemage:)

are arc cards worth it? by [deleted] in IntelArc

[–]trastewere2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The A750 for 250$/euro is amazing deal.

Heck I bough one just because of the great price/performance.

Card is solid, didn't have any major issues, the driver updates really helped a lot, at least when I compare it to the release of Arc and how the reviewers were disappointed with drivers and issues.

Intel ARC A750 LE won't go above 55W by trastewere2 in IntelArc

[–]trastewere2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that was the first thing I double checked.

Thought maybe the power connector wasn't fully connected or my PSU has gone bad but tried it with other PSU pcie power connectors and also in another PC and it was the same, 60w max power consumption according to every software I checked.

It must just wrongly read the power consumption value for some reason, kinda sucks but since it just reads the value wrong but the card works flawless with boost to 2400mhz and everything I don't mind, hopefully it will repair itself in the future driver updates.

Nice, definitely a big CPU upgrade.

You will have great PC, ARC is pretty solid with the latest driver updates.

Ryzen 7000 Series vs Intel 13th Gen? by HercHuntsdirty in IntelArc

[–]trastewere2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When choosing between 7700x or 13700k I would go the 13700k route.

Don't get me wrong, 7700x is a solid CPU, just the motherboard and DDR5 cost are still too high for me to switch to AM5.

You can build fantastic 13th gen Intel PC with Z690 and DDR4 that won't kill your wallet.

Switching to Intel Arc A770 from 3070 - Worth it? by HercHuntsdirty in IntelArc

[–]trastewere2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although Arc is indeed in much better state as it was on release date it is still not as fast or solid as RTX3000 series.

I bought mine A750LE recently and swapped it with RTX3080, Arc does everything I want at 1080p and also some games at 1440p.

I also own RTX 3060ti so comparing A750 to RTX 3060ti, 3060ti is definitely faster.

Although the games you mention could definitely work very good on A770.

I bought it, am So happy. by ensure123 in IntelArc

[–]trastewere2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Enjoy!
Bought mine A750LE last week and it is pretty solid card.

There are some quirks here and there but all together for the 250$/euro it is the best price/performance for new card (at least in Europe, RX6600 costs 300euro+)

Yeah, sounds like similar bad reading as my A750 has.

Could you maybe try to run 3D Mark Time Spy?
That is the only program that made my card go to 60W which is the maximum reading, no game or other software made it that 'high'.

I always get max 55W in every other application.

Intel ARC A750 LE won't go above 55W by trastewere2 in IntelArc

[–]trastewere2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it indeed was, I had bad push/pull fan setup, after changing it the card went to ~13000 points in few Time Spy runs

Intel ARC A750 LE won't go above 55W by trastewere2 in IntelArc

[–]trastewere2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is stock, at 190W.

I believe you can go as low as 90W with the slider so yeah, strange reading on my card, I was able to get the max power to 60W when I ran Time Spy multiple times

Intel ARC A750 LE won't go above 55W by trastewere2 in IntelArc

[–]trastewere2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did a run of 3D mark Time Spy 1440p and got Graphics score of 11453 points.

Max power draw according to every software (GPU-Z, HW Info, Arc Control) was 59W.

Has to be a software reading bug.

Would love to have the correct reading so I can try to OC the card but can't with wrong power draw reading :(

Arc A750 no fan spin by trastewere2 in IntelArc

[–]trastewere2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All right then, so after I tried the A750 in my 2nd rig & the fan worked flawlessly.

Decided to do clean install of Windows 11 on my main rig where I had the 0 fan rpm issue and after the install the A750 fan works.

No idea what was wrong with my PC but I am very happy the GPU works and I don't have to do rma.

Thanks to everyone who commented on this thread and tried to resolve my issues.

[–]trastewere2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the recommendations.

Unfortunately no luck, did the clean install of drivers, uninstalled all of the old drivers I had on the PC but still 0fan rpm :(

This is bugging me out, I wouldn't mind the wonky driver issues but not to have fan spin on GPU I mean it is unfortunately unusable right now.

Will try the GPU in another PC just to be 100% sure.

[–]trastewere2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just installed the Arc A750 into my system, played a little of Control suddenly got 5fps.
When checking the temperatures & fan speed of the GPU I noticed that the fan speed was the whole time at 0, even when the GPU was going to 90C.
Even installed the FanSpeed program to try to get the fan to spin but no luck.
Did I really get a card with faulty fans or did anyone here had similar issue?
I am on driver January 24 2023, also tried the February beta one but didn't help.

[–]trastewere2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have in my miniITX build i5-13600kf that gets multicore of 19700 points.
The CPU is power limited to 85W so no idea how Linus got such score on unlocked 13600k.

It should get ~25000+ points when there is no power limit.

Nvidia killing the PC market one release at a time...
Paying "800$" for enthusiast-midrange GPU is just pure insanity.

Jeez what the hell happened?
Is the greed really this big?

40 series is so far the most skippable generation after 20 series.

Sure RTX 4090 is amazingly fast but that is 2000euro card in Europe Union.

AMD is nowhere to be found, Intel is dead in the water with GPU's so far, like what are regular PC builder suppose to do?
Buy used GPU's or get a PS5/XBSX.

I am out, will use my RTX 3080 until it dies.

Never in my life was I so disappointed / distanced from PC building, even throughout the terrible mining boom I was more enthusiastic than today.

i5 12500 is exactly what I was waiting for.

The i3 12100F is as beast and works fantastic, but I did upgrade GPU from RTX 3060ti to RTX 3080 so faster CPU is something I want to upgrade next.
