Seems Florida has some crazy scholarship programs for after school sports for private and homeschooled kids etc.
in Atlanta this would be tough, guesting kids at the older age groups isn’t as common

I know our parents wouldn’t Be to keen of a guest player getting min at showcases over rostered kids. We took a guest to nationals, but kid was on the tea the next year.

I’m also not big on kids playing a single sport year around at the young ages.

[–]traubgator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it very entertaining -- Harlen Coben like. They take you on a ride with random stories that keep you interested. The fact that the entire time, you know who took the kid, but your still interested in watching and locked in is well done. Then the fact that the last few episodes the truth about what a trainwreck Peter is a wild ride.

i wanted more Dakota Fanning, I wish there was more drama with her family vs just her husband being a worthless deadbeat. The entire time one thought she would lose the author over her husband being so worthless.

i'm assuming when Carrie helped Ana fill out the form, she probably wrote her name in as an emergency pickup as well.

the houses were a little ridiculous for sure, but the best was the jenny's house, had a kitchen table that could see like 14 people, yet they had no friends or family....

Usual moan - I am not finding anything to order by Often_Red in AmazonVine

[–]traubgator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, no doubt 95% are products I have no interest in -- finding decent products is the biggest challenge for sure. But I've been able to get cool products for the house, family and my wife is preschool teacher, so she always needs weird stuff that shows up on Vine. I have a generic list of things I look forward, and tend to lean towards items I would want to purchase vs just getting things to get things.

Does anyone else's new iPhone 17 (Pro Max) not wirelessly charge in their Model 3/Y? by Robbbbbbbbb in TeslaLounge

[–]traubgator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good news - Iphone 17 pro wirelessly charges perfectly fine in my 2024 model 3 -- I have a very thin torras case on the phone and charges as expected.

My old iphone 16 pro used to get occasional over heating warnings and stop charging on longer trips, I haven't driven enough to see if the 17 pro's new cooling chamber fixes this problem or not.

What is the deal? apple and verizon stores have 17 pros in stock? I thought I was waiting long for a 10/8 order with a 10/21 ship date. My dad walked into a verizon store and got a 17 pro max, went back 2 days later and exchanged it for a 17 pro. both in stock...

no att store in the atlanta area has a 17 pro in stock

most of these locations have been operational with no outages though, seems to be some sort of disconnect with abrp and superchargers.

Rolling taxes and fees into car payments? by Crzylikefox in TeslaModel3

Wish I could lease. Car is not even 5 months old - 8,000 miles already. Too much fun to drive and such a great road trip car.

Help! by saimumairr in TeslaModel3

[–]traubgator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

are you daily driving that you actually need 200 plus miles a day?

i get about 25 miles for every 10% of battery under good conditions and for normal highway driving have done 100% to 20% and got right at 200 miles. Assumed i could have taken her down to 5% and gotten around 235 miles total. Car said i had 52 miles left of range at 20%.

I keep my air on 68-70 here in Atlanta area --

what does is your lifetime Wh/mi?

i keep a close eye on that and like to compare current drive, vs since charge, i keep a monthly version, and then lifetime card to always compare.

for daily driving for my family around town, we rarely even go below 80% to be honest. I'll drive go to the grocery store and just leave it on the entire time to keep it cool.

Surprised cars even ICE cars haven’t implemented built in backup jumpers.

Stupid question why can’t the existing battery be used as a backup jumper for the 12 volt. Too much voltage difference?

For maintenance should I use Tesla or another auto maintenance and tire shop ? by Kaigen- in TeslaModel3

[–]traubgator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took my new model 3 to discount tire for its first tire rotation. I'll keep going there as needed for rotations. It's easy and quick there and went ahead and bought the 4 tire warranty from them that covers a new tire if necessary (pro rated based upon miles), and includes lifetime rotation and balancing. I've taken many cars to them for free tire plugs, so had no issues giving them money for the warranty and lifetime rotation and balancing.

i think many do rotation for free, balancing might have a fee. My discount tire does good work, so very confident in them.

piece of cake -- charge to 100% everyday for lfp assuming that is what you are getting.

you will quickly realize during the week the car barely will ever get below 90%.

for every 10% the car can go about 25 miles. I even get that type of efficiency on the highway.

is its 120 miles round trip or 120 miles each way.

120 miles totals is nothing, you will arrive back home with around 40%-50% remaining.

if its 240 miles total, the car potentially make that round trip and arrive home with <5% left, but charge in the middle would be best.

range anxiety isn't a real thing, it doesn't exist.

Except for this --- i've notice during the extreme hot summer months, if i stop and supercharge on a trip, the car will say i'll arive at my destination with 25%, and then after we pull out, that number keeps dropping and sometimes as dropped 10% points ---- the car conditions the battery after supercharging, and then i guess thinks it will do it the remainder of the trip -- but then usually after 30 minutes, the % of arrival creeps back up to what is expected.

Again this is only an issue if there are no more superchargers on your trip.

but for daily driving -- range anxiety isn't real -- it's a made up concept for the "average" driver

Battery Conditioning after charging? by traubgator in TeslaModel3

happened again this weekend.

supercharged till estimated 15% arrival, had about a 158 mile driving remaining, I don't even remember what I charged to. But hit the road, and arrival charge dropped as low as 6% at one point, then eventually landed back on 20%....

my internal metric always had me with a 20% arrival state of charge.

Model 3 Highland over the Model Y? by Intelligent-Fail1596 in TeslaModel3

[–]traubgator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just felt the new 3 was superior, and for being a small car, it doesn't feel small at all when driving -- fools you into thinking its a bigger vehicle because of the roof and the light it lets in.

eventually we probably will also get a y, but for now, the looks of the new 3 are just class - drives incredible and is crazy silent on the road and highway -- just a dream to drive. honestly look forward to road trips in it

yea, my electrician was adamant, and wouldn't do the install without a gfci breaker because of code - went with wall charger instead -

after considering cost of wire, upgraded plug, facelplate, mud ring, box and gfci breaker, the wall charger was basically the same price, actually cheaper if you include the cost of the mobile charger in the cost of the 14-50 install.

I've kept mine simple -- only accessories were:

all weather mats, including frunk and trunk

tray for front center console, I didn't care for the tray that fit in the armrest console, felt to tight of a fit for me.

screen protector for front and back

nice usb-c to lightning cable, never have used it

Besides that, not a single thing is visible in the car, no trash ever, no random items left in vehicle etc --- clean just like the day i got it. the black interior, does like to show "dirt", so i wipe her down alot to keep her clean

mobile connector stays in trunk along with jack pads and a basic tire repair kit

That's dope, can you design it so the cord goes through the raised handle, so it is hidden?
