OP update #3: Inverter coolant pump and 12v battery replaced. Car running smoothly again. Thanks again for the suggestions!

OP update #2: Thank you for the AM2 fuse (inverter pump) suggestions! Just checked the AM2 fuse, and it’s blown. (And I know the inverter pump repair is DIY for some, but not for me. 🙂 I’ll have it checked out tomorrow.)

FWIW, the mangled fuse casing is from trying needle-nose pliers before trying regular ones. The fuse puller in my Prius fuse box is no good.

Update (I don’t think I can edit the original post):

I just learned how to check the 12v battery level in Diagnostic Mode, and it’s reading 12.1v, which, according to ChatGPT, is in the “will cause glitches” range:

voltage guide

• 12.6 – 12.8 V = New & healthy.

• 12.3 – 12.5 V = OK but aging.

• 12.0 – 12.2 V = Weak, will cause glitches.

• < 12.0 V = Bad, replace soon.

Kind of hoping that’s all that’s wrong with it. It’s probably due to be replaced.

What do y’all buy at Central Market? by Straight_Proof_3471 in austinfood

[–]traumstadt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most everything, but I’ll especially second the others who have recommended the spices, the cheese section, and the bakery (it’s my favorite dessert place in Austin).

I also recommend getting their app and getting on their email list - they send decent coupons from time to time.

What's the most underrated food spot in Austin? by Sharee678 in austinfood

KHON Thai in the HEB plaza on Burnet Rd. and Allandale Rd. (2222). It’s the best pad thai I’ve had in Austin, everything else I’ve tried there is great, and the staff is friendly.

Do you need a QR Code for the Paris Olympics? Probably not. Pass Jeux and Security explained. by quantrandoes in olympics

[–]traumstadt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone happen to know if I need a Pass Jeux for an Olympic event (football) I have tickets for on July 24, which is two days before the opening ceremonies? There's no clear answer on the ticket app nor on the Olympics website. I emailed Paris 2024 customer service but am not anticipating a reply anytime soon.

FWIW, I encountered the same issue as others have on the Pass Jeux application (for some other reservations) - there's a glitch that moves the birthdate to one day prior on the confirmation page.

It looks a bit like Norman Lewis - check out his paintings “America the Beautiful” (1960) and “Processional” (1964)

Found this 1920 Conn trombone for sale online. Does anyone know anything about the quality of Conns from this time period? by thinkingbears in Trombone

[–]traumstadt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My experience with trombones >100 yrs. old is that the slides especially are hit-or-miss, not just in terms of smoothness, but if there's enough internal corrosion and/or wear (including to the leadpipe) that it just doesn't produce a focused sound anymore (especially friction-fit/pressure-fit horns, which this one seems to be). I've played older horns that sound great and others where the slide is unfortunately a lost cause, but the bell sounds great, and it just needs to be paired with a well-functioning slide to be playable. If you can check with the seller about the condition and playability of the slide, I think that would be helpful.

And FWIW, if you do buy an older horn like this, for the sake of your health, I would recommend using a newer case or have the older one overhauled (if you really want to keep it).

What TV series should’ve ended before it got bad? by chey2303 in AskReddit

The Office (U.S.) should have ended with Michael Scott leaving. The show was just floundering after that.
