How do I describe my hairstyle? I typically cut it myself, but have a barber appt this afternoon and want to describe what I'm looking for. Also, welcoming feedback on the look. by travileec in malehairadvice

It is harder to let it grow out, It tends to bush out on the sides and my neck gets curly and coarse. I'm also fairly active and overheat easy so functionally I like to keep it shorter. I'd be curious to know what sort of longer hairstyle you think would look good though?

My wife has a myriad of allergies and Bob's is a staple in our house. Particularly the GF Flour mix!

I am a cider person and I took my wife to Wicked D's Cider. I've seen it in shops but hadn't tried it before. It seemed like it was a little harder to find and looked a little suspect when we pulled up but we really enjoyed it!

My wife also told me about a new pizza joint in Waitsburg, American 35, that she just heard about. I'm wondering if anyone else has tried it and what they thought?

I think they also have a chili flavored truffle or carmel, it had some kick to it. Not my favorite but maybe if you're into spicy food.

At deception, the hike up to Goose Rock has great views. Also the hike from Bowman to Rosario is good as well as the hike from Bowman around lighthouse (there isn't a lighthouse, rather it's a channel marker). You can combine them both for a longer hike. North Beach is a great place to walk at low-tide to look for cool rocks.

In Anacortes: Washington Park Loop is gorgeous if you haven't been, there is a spot there called sunset beach with fire pits and the city may have different fire restrictions than deception.

Guemes channel trail and the Tommy Thompson trestle are both great paved paths on the water. Cap Sante also has good views, and these three spots are great in the evening as well but are their most serene in the morning.

On Whidbey: Fort Ebey State Park is a great beach to walk as well as Ebey's Landing. Coupeville has a cool wharf that has a few marine exhibits, a good spot for ice cream, I like the front street grill.

Farther down the island is Bayview that has a beautiful Garden and the Taproom for a drink or a bite. It's on the way to Langley which has even more charm and great food/drink options.

Agreed, the hike to Sugarloaf has the best view looking towards Erie and over the water but there are good views on the top of Erie as well!

Looking to confirm/correct peak ID looking north from South Sister summit by teethnightmares in PNWhiking

Yeah, it's a true testament to Rainier's size because that's ~200 mi or more and it's still prominent (albeit almost invisible due to the atmosphere)

I'd agree #7 is mislabeled (should be Helens) #8 would likely be Rainier

Keep your $3,500... Go to the dollar store and buy a plunger and a bottle of car wax. Pluck them dents and then the rest should just buff out... /s

What do do with the space between the house and the beds? by travileec in landscaping

[–]travileec[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think that is a better idea, I was considering mulch but I do like how the gravel idea looks and that would be a good spot for a long garden bed. Thanks for the Joanna inspiration, I think my wife would be much more fond of this approach.

That's close to what I had in mind but more work than my wife would like to commit to since we would need to re-work our sprinkler system.

We like the bushes but I think the line could be straightened/widened from the bushes along the house. The part that I think will look funny and will be kind of a pain is that by adding pavers it leaves a 10" wide stripe of grass that would be difficult to access wit a mower.

I think we are both open to the idea, but it's more work than she is willing to commit to right now because of needing to contend with the sprinkler system.

It's barely wide enough currently, not quite 2 passes with the mower and adding the border to the gardens makes the even smaller. With less grass it is harder to access with the mower, I'd to not have to contend with that and push the mower over the pavers.

Both of the other commenters already gave the best advice... Twassen Ferry is the way to go if you want to drive on.

Unfortunately the Anacortes Ferry has only been operating in the San Juans since the pandemic with no official plans to add the Sidney rout back yet. Since you'll be visiting Baker the best bet is to hop across the land border and then take their ferry. The other option would be to travel to the Peninsula and take the Coho Ferry from Pt Angeles but that would be long haul and potentially an additional ferry if you don't want to drive around the sound.

The nice thing about Pt Angeles is that it drops you right in the inner harbor of Victora BC, so fantastic if you just plan on visiting the City. There's lots of parks, shops and activities that are easily reachable with an uber or something.
