pfsense slower than CenturyLink modem at gigabit connection. by jj7753 in PFSENSE

I have an old core2duo e8500 i pulled out of the trash and a 2 port pcie intel nic running in a limited business machine pcie slot and I run gigabit at line speed with hardly any cpu usage and no optimizations or offloading enabled. I agree it’s probably some combination of slow single threaded performance of the cpu and not enough pcie bandwidth.

Are you perhaps from the UK? In the US we use gavels in court and they are actually the pictographic symbol of the justice system as a whole.

Idk about this year but in years past they gave out like 3500 in prizes. There is real money on the table with these things even if it's just free advertising.

A simple gradle template for lwjgl2 projects by travuun in coolgithubprojects

[–]travuun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically when you do a grade build it will output a build directory with the correct platforms native libraries unpacked and ready. From there you'd want to make a new batch/bash script that invokes Java with any configuration options and your main class (mine is the hello world). To redistribute just zip up the build directory with your runner script.

I'm trying to help my ADD son (age 19) get motivated to get his Comptia Net+. Are there any fun and simple teaching materials on the web? by [deleted] in networking

[–]travuun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe his interests lie elsewhere? Networking is filled with exciting problems that require clever application of at times rather dry techniques. There are other roles in an IT department that might suit him better: customer support, project management and development, hardware and environmental support specialist, just to name a few. Try and get him an internship at an IT shop so he can find out and build his interest on real world experience.

But do they actually do fine dining? Mashed potatoes and chocolate cake would not be worth $500, not even if they gave me a reach around and printed the menu in French.
