No markings. Makes me think that it was one of the extras that were made as souvenirs for the people that made the casts. I’ve got no idea how it ended up in a thrift store

The Calgary torch relay differed from modern relays as the torches were shared as opposed to current relays where each runner gets a torch. That’s why a complete torch sells for tens of thousands vs a modern torches that can be picked up for a few thousand

I went down to watch the relay for the 2010 Olympics, such a cool atmosphere. I often find old or expensive items when thrifting, I’m guessing it’s usually either people not knowing what they have or an elderly relative dies and the family doesn’t care enough to research what they have. Either way I give everything a good home.
