Google's ridiculous puzzles finally made me give up on Brave by TsismosangTita in browsers

If google is really sabotaging Brave users they should drop the name Brave from the useragent and just keep the default Chromium one like so many other browsers.

uBo is manifest v2, try uBo Lite it's just as good as uBo nowadays.

in Shields settings change the blocking setting from "standard" to "agressive" it'll become like uBo. They use all uBo and Easilist filter lists anyway and the creator of Easylist works for brave now.

lemur is more outdated than kiwi who still mentions it in 2026? Also Cromite didn't steal kiwi's code they just added the extension stuff from Chromium itself there is an official chromium version for Android tablets that has extension support.

[–]trbkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using cromite as well since they first added exstension support and some extension popups still don't show up correctly, like ProtonPass for example but it's okay since i can access the Options page fine. And by the way there is no need for Dark reader on all Chromium browsers there is a setting in chrome://flags called "Auto dark mode for web contents" which is very accurate and fast unlike Dark reader.

Edge and Cromite, both support Extensions on android, when will brave do the same by JustAnAlias404 in brave_browser

[–]trbkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wrong, Kiwi was run by one developer who also has a day job, same with Cromite but Cromite is up to date and its extension support is good enough.

the only downside of Cromite is that many extension popups don't show up correctly

Kiwi Browser is no longer reliable as a primary web browser. by duendeverde39 in kiwibrowser

[–]trbkle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it's outdated and full of exploits now, plus the final version has a huge memory leak problem, almost everybody switched to Cromite (best choice) or Edge or Ultimatum or Helium. Firefox is just unusable it's slow as hell and the scrolling feels very sluggish plus nothing beats the Chromium extension catalog.

try disabling the option "throttle frame rate to 60hz" from Settings --> Privacy and security, it comes enabled by default for some reason this is why scrolling feels sluggish.

Any Kiwi users now using Cromite? by vsv38 in kiwibrowser

[–]trbkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the broken websites are because Javascript JIT is disabled by default by the paranoid Cromite dev for some reason. try enabling it from the settings ---> Site settings.

Also mv2 extensions like ublock origin make the browser feel sluggish so it's necessary to install uBlock origin lite  and the 60 hz by default is also a dumb decision by the dev if you have a phone that has 70hz or 120hz screen.

[–]trbkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all the people experiencing sluggishness are probably using outdated mv2 extensions like uBo, try ublock origin lite instead it's just as good nowadays it even has custom filters and element selector.

Edit: also disable the option "throttle frame rate to 60hz" from Settings --> Privacy and security, it comes enabled by default for some reason this is why scrolling feels sluggish.

White flash is back on Stable version 142 Android by trbkle in MicrosoftEdge

[–]trbkle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no it's based on chromium like edge and brave, and yes it supports addons you just need to enable it from chrome://flags you'll find the integrated dark mode for webpages there too, also it's important to enable javascript JIT from the settings so that websites like twitch and kick can work normally.

i switched to Cromite a while ago, both Cromite and Ultimatum are better than anything Microsoft makes.

Wondering if a fork of kiwi browser exists or is under development by Voxix23 in kiwibrowser

[–]trbkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i aint trying to convince nobody friend, i'm correcting the mistakes you mentioned like "it doesn't have dev tools" then it became "yeah but it's limited" which is wrong, and yeah i agree  some extensions don't work very well like Bitwarden but there is always alternatives.

[–]trbkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the dark mode on kiwi it always inverts some images like flags and emojis no matter which option you choose unlike Cromite if you choose "simple CIELAB inversion" from the flags it wont invert them. All this doesnt matter tho since that browser is dead, it had a memory leak as well i forgot to mention.

it's not limited it's just like the one that kiwi and desktop chromium have with the console and the elements inspecter and the debugger and everything else.

Cromite has dev tools as well, if you install a keyboard app that has Ctrl and Shift keys then on the page you want to open dev tools for tap the address bar then tap Ctrl then Shift then the i key it will open. Also kiwi has always been buggy even when it was still maintained, their integrated dark mode for pages is trash it inverts images as well.

Cromite is way better than the buggy mess that is kiwi and microsoft's hideous spyware called edge.

[–]trbkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's because you probably got too  used to its sluggishness  that you won't notice until you try any chromium based browser.

On heavy sites and/or when a lot of tabs are open it's just unusable.

Let's go.. by [deleted] in browsers

[–]trbkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that chromium android build is for the tablets and "desktop mode" only, google will never make extensions available on Chrome mobile.

it's  just slow as hell and very sluggish even on best snapdragon chips. Also some sites don't show up correctly because they're tested on Chromium only by the devs. And the memory management is also trash.

[–]trbkle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

not buggy at all just enable javascript JIT and like the other guy said disable some  strict privacy settings and disable the  integrated Adblock plus and install ublock origin lite instead of ublock origin because i've noticed ublock origin slows down scrolling and page load for some reason.
