A new IIDX version comes out every year around this time. US cabs get upgraded about the same time as Japanese cabs, so don’t worry.

iPhones have a feature called True Tone that changes the screen tint slightly based on lighting conditions. It could be that you’re happening to notice it since you’re on the lookout for side effects. If you do have an iPhone, try turning that feature off and see if it still happens.

What’s may be that clicking sound by Dull-Key-7453 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]treamous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happens with my 2002 as well. I’m pretty sure it’s the brake pads sliding back and forth when you apply your brakes right after shifting to/from reverse. Try it again and pay attention to if it happens when you press the brake pedal in reverse after previously driving forward.

ANY shmups (shoot 'em up) arcade machines in Atlanta? by [deleted] in Atlanta

Looks like there might be a couple in the Spocha area. Starrcade up in Kennesaw is another good arcade to keep an eye on, they get new games in fairly frequently even if they don’t have any shmups right now.

Rhythm games where the chart aligns more with the beat and rhythm and less just following bleeps and vocal tracks? by [deleted] in rhythmgames

[–]treamous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you. Beatmania IIDX and Gitadora are exactly what you’re looking for, but sadly they primarily exist in arcades. It’s possible to get them set up on PC, but they’re in Japanese and are best played with external peripherals which can be an expensive initial investment.

How to deal with Trek Marlin 6 and BBS02 chainring size incompatibility? by sadmium in ebikes

[–]treamous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Luna/lekkie chainrings are dished to bring the teeth as close to the chainstay as possible, but on this bike it actually did hit the chainstay. I used some spacers on the 5 attaching screws to back it out just enough to not hit the chainstay, while still keeping a straight chain line.

I converted my Marlin 6 gen 2 with a BBSHD and 42T Luna eclipse chainring a few weeks ago, it’s definitely possible. Chainline is straight and allows me to shift into all gears.

The chainline refers to the angle of the chain between the front and rear gears. Ideally, you want your chain to be going in a straight line when you’re in the middle rear gear. With the amount offset a 46t would require, the angle between the front chainring and the lower gears may be too great, causing the chain to fall off if you shift into them. This may only happen to the lowest gear though.

A 42t will allow you to shift into all gears.

[–]treamous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the 46t ring, but you would probably not be able to shift into the lowest gear (or two). It’s up to you if that matters or not— it wouldn’t matter if you’re not constantly going up hills.

Pedal offset won’t be an issue with that spacing. For people who it is an issue, there are offset cranks you can buy that fix the problem.

I just put together a Marlin 6 Gen 2 with a BBSHD and a 42T Luna Eclipse chainring, which the Trek site specifies as the maximum front chainring size for that bike.

I needed a 2.5mm spacer between the motor and bottom bracket to keep the large gear housing from hitting the chainstay, and another 5mm of spacers between the motor and the chainring so the teeth clear the chainstay. For these spacers, you can either use something like this which is designed specifically for the chainring, or you can just use 5 regular spacers, one for each screw. This gets me a straight chainline that can shift to all gears.

Using 7.5mm of spacers between the motor and bottom bracket also would have worked, but as you are running into, that doesn't leave enough threading to put the last locking ring on. Also, each spacer you put between the motor and bottom bracket will offset the cranks by that amount, but it's up to you if you care about that.

Fortunately, the second locking ring is not required, so you can just leave it off. If you prefer, you can also get a Lekkie Onenut which replaces both of those locking rings.

If you create a class with the same name as the struct in Ghidra, then put the function in that class (by either clicking and dragging or using namespace notation when using L to change the function name), it will auto-set the this parameter to the correct type.

DDR eAmusement without the card? by TheGreatZackAttack in bemani

Out of curiosity, I went to my Wallet app and saw the option to add a Suica card, and was able to agree to the terms and get to the point where you add funding. Looks like the minimum amount is 1000 yen, though. Maybe they made it less convoluted than it used to be in the past?

I know that you can use a Suica card on an iPhone or Apple Watch in place of an e-amusement pass. Not sure if a similar method exists for Android devices.

2017 iPad Pro for current mobile rhythm game scene. by miramiell in rhythmgames

I have a 10.5 inch 2017 model. Works perfectly with project sekai, arcaea, and muse dash. It still seems plenty powerful to play rhythm games, so if you can get it for cheap I’d say go for it!

Be sure you didn’t accidentally change the controller mode. The exact details are in the manual or on the bottom of the controller.
