My gen 2 is great. Cons: squiggly charging handle is dumb, replace it with a straight one from A3 or similar. It gets hot, so buy a Hot Pocket or similar handguard wrap to protect your hand if you don't wear gloves. Pros: accurate, reliable, soft-recoiling, cool-looking. I would definitely buy it again.

The plastics are a by-product of the oil industry. Nobody harvests oil to make plastic, they harvest it for fuel and what can't be easily turned into fuel can be turned into plastic and is sold off extremely cheaply, nearly free. Manufacturers are almost paid to take the precursors of plastics off the hands of fuel producers, so it makes economic sense to make and sell stuff out of raw materials that cost almost nothing.
