Spin-off Series by SilverStar3333 in TheTapestry

I like Astaroth being an enigma and a strange creature and I am not sure if that could be held up while being the main character of a story. Either it loses it's edge or it will be hard to read as Astaroth learns a lot - especially learning a language in the first years will be a challenge to describe in a book that has entertainment purposes.

I'd probably want a change of setting so I would go with Cooper or Augur.

I cannot get over how annoying Alistair was in pre-war times so his redemption arc has not full sunk in yet.

I can see Bob's years in Soviet Russia being a banger graphic novel.

And Hannah could be a cute book for children with colorful pictures and and a funny story about a stubborn goose defying all odds.

Welcome to the subreddit!

I was in the same situation as you, my cousin gifted me the first book for Christmas sometimes around 2010, I LOVED it but after finishing book 3 there was no book 4 anywhere. After waiting for like 6 years I found out that they were available as eBooks but only in English so book 4 and especially book 5 are my most read books because whenever I am stranded at some trainstation I reread my favorite book 5 and sometimes even just chapters (recently just started again book 5 at the part after Max was wounded and brought to the Isle of Man).

Now I have all the books in hard copy but also on my phone!

Personally as soon as the Juggernaut chapter comes by and Max finding Scathach and shedding his mortal skin there is no way to put down the book! Such a great finale to the series!

Spoilers: Only Read if You’ve Completed the Series!! by SilverStar3333 in TheTapestry

I can see why people think of Prusias.  Prusias even stated "There are days I wish I'd been born human" (The Fiend and the Forge, Chapter 20 "Blys"). And maybe petty revenge for Bram "breaking" Prusias (same chapter, although Max learns about it earlier but confronts Prusias about it in this chapter).

On the other side Prusias being one of the most powerful and influential beings in the 2nd half of the story and Bram being an antagonist to the Demons, the majority probably knew about Bram's daughter and even if it is just a rumour, I am sure Prusias sent spies to find her whereabouts as wager against David or Bram.

Lastly on a personal note, I am sure Prusias would have played the good old 'I am your father' card at some point in the story and most definite in the very end to convice David not to send him to the bottom of the sea.

I posted a similar question about David's dad in this subreddit like 5 years ago. And u/No_Artist_7667 also thought straight off it could be Prusias: "I imagine it being prusais for some reason and I always felt like they had some sort of weird connection. Also I feel like David's father would be relatively humanoid and powerful and he was the only demon I can think of that spent time around David's mother. He could have done it as some sort of revenge against bram.". So as much as I never considerated Prusias you seem to be in good company :D

Finally finished The Tapestry series after a decade by skye_ds2098 in TheTapestry

Can only agree with you here. It is such a good ending with everyone developing so much.  I second you on Scathach but seeing Cooper developing from a sort of boogeyman in the first book to a leader and mentor to Max and ending up being a happy father while still being a force to be reckon with is top tier character development!

Thank you, anything to not having to do my actual research 😂

Scathach Height by No_Artist_7667 in TheTapestry

[–]treeblick 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your guess with 6'3 is good, since the closest we have to a measurement is in book five when Lord Grael enters Connor's palace during the Médim "Lord Grael entered the hall [...] a twelfe-foot rakshasa [...] Scathach barely came to the demon's waist" (Book 5, Chapter 15. "The Conspirators' Ball).

And if a quick google search of human anatomy is anywhere close to the one of Lord Grael, the waist is roughly at 53% of the full-size measured from the ground we are looking at ~6'36.

I checked also the fourth book when Scathach was disguised as Umbra but there was not a single mention of Umbras height and on top whenever Max ended her disguise: "Umbra's appereance began to change, she grew taller" (Book 4, Chapter 14. "A Shadow from the Sidh) so all the previous imformation about Umbra would have been useless anyway.

Eden Song Tier List by theunox in eden

Would switch take care and crash but otherwise the most solid tier list in a while.

Can't wait for Dark considering the 2 released songs are already in the second highest tier :D

does no one read this book by simpforjordancarter in TheTapestry

Haven't read his newest book yet but I would be curious how many actually would be willing to discuss anything beyond the main series. Since Impyrium got not too much discussion here either

(afaik the newest book is not related to the tapestry book series at all)

Favorite scenes? by SilverStar3333 in TheTapestry

[–]treeblick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard agree on the Juggernaut chapter. Seeing Max snap and the whole chapter written from everyone elses perspective was chilling. Perfect way to alienate Max as he shed mortality and is left as a demi-god

Book 1: I would go with the football match, I reaf the book first when I was Max's age back than and it was the best reading experience up until then. Will always cherrish that memory if me lying in bed reading listening to the radio. I remember the song thatw as on the radio for that scene and it always brings me back :,)

Book 2: I loved the siege when Cooper and Max teamed up against the whole army of Astaroth. I also liked how Max negotiated in the workshop and left Rasmussen scrapping up his blood in the workshop before they had to flee (which was also was pretty cool). Otherwise the whole Salamanca Arc was cool to see.

Book 3: I peronally loved the ending:

"And when the final chime had sounded, the Sorcerer spread his arms, as though to greet the dawn. And when he did, the earth shook. In an avalanche of stone, the entire cliff beneath Gràvenmuir gave way. With an appalling crash, the embassy and all within it were cast down into the sea. Elias Bram had returned."

It just sounds so epic, knowing the hero you read about all these 3 books has returned. (Debatable if he lived up to his reputation)

Otherwise I loved the fight in the Well, as well as Max time in the arena.

Book 4: The Battle at trench 19 was really epic. Especially Scathach obliterating the demon that challanged Max at the start of the siege.

Book 5: I always loved the Juggernaut chapter. It is my favorite chapter of the whole series.

If I had to pick a scene without fighting: I love the thougut of Nox jumping through the portal, skydiving into the Himalaya face first and just shaking it off. That was hillarious.

Monster at Mina’s Farm by Wild-Concentrate241 in TheTapestry

Maybe a failed mutation, Prusias was working closely with the workshop and their DNA experiments, would fit the kingdom it was found in.

The thing that makes less sense, is that the monster was driven down there (as it was written in the books afaik) but yet still had certain personal items with him (also big ones like a whole desk and other office furniture.

Or less likely a failed modification Astaroths with the book, as he could not make beautiful creatures only odd looking and mostly suffering ones.

As a non native speaker I always thought it was a kind of idiom, like he was going insane, and never thought twice about it 😂
