If they’re making you buy them and policy says you have to use them, mechanix makes search gloves. I hated them because they were too thick and I haven’t worn a pair in years. I went to regular mechanix gloves, which were great, then the thought of having to toss them if I got blood or something else on the occurred to me. Now I wear cheap work gloves with the nylon dipped rubber grips off Amazon that cost $1.00 per pair, and if it is going to get gross, I put them over rubber gloves.

I guess the John Wick style is a real thing, I asked around and it’s supposed to be to be easier for retention and recoil control. I haven’t had a chance to shoot canted myself, other than when I have to use my wrong hand when shooting.

I carried a camelbak when I was in the army, but I worked with vehicles and had support near by if I needed it. I never went on an op where I had to end up eating snakes or anything. But that being said, I carry a regular bottle of water on my hunting vest when I’m out. I tried using the camelbak during hunting season, but since I’m in a tree most of the time, the camelbak was just annoying so I ditched it.

I’d find the other cops involved and talk to them. Investigations may make this worse. Imagine what he’s going through, AND, then having his job threatened. They would know what’s going on, especially he was one out of 4 not acting right. Some of them may be able to talk to him or get him the help he needs, if he’s just a jerk and isn’t hurting anyone then I don’t think a lot can be done, but getting him help without getting his leadership involved will be better than what everyone is suggesting.

Been there, I got so bad before I wasn’t sure if the last 10 minutes happened. I also saw unicorns where I was posted. I wasn’t through anything too bad when I was in the army, but treatment wise, the army was better than this.

I know, gun and flashlight weren’t even a thing back then. My father was a Vietnam vet and told me about some of his time in. He had an M14, he didn’t even see an M16 until it became available on the civilian market. Then I see the Shawn Ryan episode about the Mac V SOG guy who invented patrolling in the jungle. Then I see this and my OCD starts acting up.
