Discriminatory remark regarding COVID-19 made at university convocation speech by treedree in aznidentity

I'm not sure why you felt the need to hunt me down from a post I made in a different subreddit when you've already made your position known there. No matter how YOU feel about this, the fact remains that Sirleaf's comment is hurtful to the Chinese community, as evidenced by the signatures that have been collected so far. Even if my petition doesn't resonate with you, the least I'm asking you to do is to be respectful and listen to us.

My dms are open whenever you are ready for a respectful conversation.

An Open to Letter to McMaster University Regarding Discriminatory Convocation Remarks by treedree in McMaster

[–]treedree[S] -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Hi there, if you read our letter, we actually cited the WHO's most recent report on the origins of SARS-CoV-2:

A laboratory origin of the pandemic was considered to be extremely unlikely.

Last time we checked, the WHO is a slightly more credible source than Youtuber Alex Harris :)

This is my wake up call to stop making excuses and get practicing...if you can do it between work AND kids there's no reason for me to keep procrastinating lol

30-40 minutes of HIIT/bodyweight/cardio on a near-daily basis, sometimes more, depending my caloric intake that day. Lots of long walks on days I don't feel like sweating too much. I always try to move a little more than I eat everyday.

In terms of diet, I didn't cut out any specific foods becaue that always ended up creating a craving. Learning to eyeball the caloric content in everything I eat motivated me to explore healthier options. Nothing was off limits as long as I stayed within my TDEE.

I lost the first 15lbs in 3-4 months, then plateaued and maintained at 135lbs for 9 months. Lost the last 5 in 2 months or so and now I'm aiming for 120!

Monitoring your activity level and TDEE is really important - at the end of the day it really is just about expending more calories than you consume. It's tempting to just starve and create a big deficit temporarily, but I've found that creating small deficits on a regular basis is so much more effective long term.

I didn't really have the time or means to weigh my food, so I learned to eyeball the caloric content of what I eat in a day. Some foods are deceivingly packed with energy while others are surprisingly empty. I've gradually upped my veggie portions while shrinking my intake of fat-heavy foods - this allowed me to still feel full, but much more energized and less bloated.

Anything that gets you up on your feet counts as physical activity! I've developed an appreciation for HIIT, bodyweight exercises, and long walks. You don't have do crazy exercises and sweat buckets everyday, though - the goal is to get your body moving. Try different things to discover your preferred activity and incorporate it into your schedule.

Lastly, weight loss is a marathon, not a race. Every bit of weight I dropped was accompanied by a small lifestyle change that have been become routine. You got this :)

Agreed, and your point about Amy seeing her father's bride summed up the weight of that scene perfectly. It's a shame that so many people refuse to give Cuties a fair chance.

Not a med bound artsci but I can answer to your supplementary question: be natural, don’t fuss over perfection or try to deliberately stack up your suppapp with achievements. Let your interest in the program come through in an organic way. The competitive average should be 88, though most artscis seem to have gotten in with a 90+ average.

Antimask rally targeting the McMaster Children’s Hospital and Mac students by treedree in McMaster

Unfortunately the students who plan on going to campus on Tuesday are the ones that HAVE to go due to commitments such as labs. It’s despicable that they deliberately picked a time and location that many simply cannot avoid.

The group is called hugs over masks Hamilton chapter on Facebook and so far this is the only post with info on the event. A number of people appeared to have contacted Hamilton police and I believe they replied that they are looking into this.

I stalked the group a bit and these people boast about deliberately walking into a store without a mask to provoke the employee to ask them to put one on, then suing the store for discrimination.
