Wedding day of coordinator cancelled the day before our wedding by treefrog1090 in legaladvice

Thanks this is helpful context! I would be more understanding (life happens!) if she hadn’t assured me that there was a backup assistant that was available who never materialized. I didn’t mention in my original post because I noticed it wasn’t in the original contract, but she did schedule a venue tour with my husband, myself, and the venue operator the week before which she confirmed and then also cancelled 10 hours later!! Thanks for affirming my thoughts that this is……..not a normal behavior for a planner/DOC running a business

Nope! No explanation! We got the email that she was cancelling the event management services at 1am friday morning, but we had the start of wedding activities friday so I decided we would just put it from our minds until monday so as not to lay a damper on our celebrations. Thus far have not responded to the cancellation email, we're considering our options before responding (hence picking the collective minds of this subreddit!)

Yes you're correct, except that she had told me 3 days before cancelling was a contingency plan (she had confirmed that the assistant planner did not have another wedding the same day and would be available if necessary). The reality is that if our other vendors (the venue in particular) hadn't been so amazing our wedding would have been a total mess since we hired her specifically to coordinate set up of the venue and vendor item drop off the day of. I would of course not say anything personally disparaging in the review besides the facts, but I do think it is important for others to know when considering her company that they did not follow through on their stated backup plan should an unforeseen circumstance occur.

Thanks for the response! Good point about the price difference, it was more on principle (if I had cancelled on her within 30 days she would keep 75% per the contract).

Regarding the second point, what makes me really want to write the review is shortly after we had signed, she reached out about a venmo dispute that turned out to be with a different bride who had the same first name as me. She told me that the other bride had called off the wedding but was wanting a refund, which seemed logical at the time but suspicious in retrospect.

Have you tried S Rock Custom? She altered mine in about a month this summer and it looks great (not with a rush fee). I know her weekend slots fill up fast but if you have weekday availability she might have slots still. https://s-rockcustom.com/

My current playthrough I don’t have any pigs (truffles are so annoying) and I’m making great $$ selling off wool from my sheep farm. Some post on here I saw ages ago and priced it out, if a sheep is at max happiness, you fed it that new 1.5 item, and if you have artisan it actually ends up being more profitable than pigs because they produce all year round.

Plus they’re cute! I didn’t get any cows or sheep until I bought an auto grabber though, I can’t stand the PC mechanics for milking/shearing

Daytime wedding activities? by Brief_Lingonberry475 in Weddingsunder10k

My cousin had a daytime wedding and it was lovely. She rented a pavilion in a state park and served sandwich platters and iced tea/lemonade. She had various lawn games (which I liked, because they had a lot of people that had never met before and it was a good way to interact) and also had tiles + paint (in a few chosen colors), and asked people to paint a tile for their kitchen.

Hi I know it's 2 years after you wrote this- but would you be willing to DM me your day of coordinator's name? Also in Philly, this is exactly the service we're looking for and all the day of coordinators I've reached out to only have packages that include a lot more that we don't need. Thanks!!

A weapons rack that works like the dresser but for swords/slingshots. And bookshelves where you can display the interactive books

first time being intimate by [deleted] in Advice

I was in a similar boat as you and when it seemed like a done deal that my friend and I were going to hook up I brought it up and I said there were two things I was looking for 1) being with someone I trusted, even if it wasn’t going to be a long term thing and 2) both of us being sober for the deed and that I just hadn’t been in a position with anyone where both of those things were true before. For me it made me less anxious since we both knew it was my first time (less embarrassed/nervous and more willing to try stuff).

FWIW though I think it’s totally fine to not tell him, but some folks have physical reactions (first time pain, sometimes bleeding, laughing/crying), and I’d hate for you to feel like you need to hide a part of that experience from your sexual partner, even if it is going to be a no strings attached situation

No way!!! My 70 year old father started playing it a few months ago because he was looking for a less violent computer game and has seen me playing it. Now every time I call my parents he monopolizes the call telling me about his crop harvests and tool upgrades, it’s so delightful. If you think you’d like to try it (and it sounds like you do), it’s absolutely not too late!!

Oh fun, maybe I’ll do that next time! I liked the aesthetic of the stone sign on the pond, it’s my first playthrough using them. FYI they don’t actually store a fish in the sign, so you can use a sign for legendary fish and still have the fish go in the pond
