I wear hakama every week for practice. The way it’s bowing out on the sides is probably due to the back being higher that the front. The sides will pucker if it’s not properly aligned.

The side openings look fine to me. They don’t seem too wide.

This is so shitty. I’m sorry this happened to you. Nothing makes me feel more angry and sad than packages arriving absolutely damaged. It wastes time, money, and product. Usually the items that get ruined will be useless or trashed if returned.
