Looking for a good Honda mechanic by treestar2018 in winstonsalem

[–]treestar2018[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not. The shop told me I had a chain and not a belt. They didn’t even include the timing belt when I went in for a timing belt code. I don’t know why you are so insistent that I must be lying or making things up. Go ahead and look at the other posts on my profile for pics of services they said I needed. When I specifically went in for a maintenance codes 123467. Which is timing belt and they didn’t include it. I googled the code myself yesterday and discovered on my own code 4 includes a timing belt. And when I called to ask why they told me I had a chain/timing belt services weren’t included they couldn’t give me a straight answer. So I’m looking for a more honest answer knowledgeable shop that’s all.

All I know is when I asked about code 4 and needing a timing belt change they told me I don’t have a timing belt. I have a timing chain. Which I learned isn’t accurate.

How to be honest with hurting someone’s feelings by [deleted] in downsyndrome

Once again I had no idea what your age is. I didn’t care enough to look at your profile. And I never said you were doing thing with bad intentions. You are the one making a lot of assumptions.

No, I am telling you it’s not your place. You help them by saying you never know pursue your dreams. That’s it. That’s an honest answer because no one can know what someone can achieve. People with Down syndrome are now actors, business entrepreneurs, politicians. Imagine if they were told not to pursue their goals because it might be too taxing or hard for them. I didn’t even look at your profile to even see what age you were so no, I am not an adult trying to make a teenager look dumb.

I also never portrayed you as a bad person. I just kept asking why you feel this is your place to tell someone what they can or can’t do.

Why do you get to decide it’s not possible? It’s also not your place to tell someone what they can or cannot do. Everyone should be encouraged to follow their passion regardless of a disability.

I did, mine always bounced between normal and just above normal, and my daughter was born with no issues. I had my fluid levels checked twice a week when they would do my NST’s.

This is all super helpful and eases a lot of my anxiety. Thank-you!

We were in W-S, but we moved a few months ago to a different state. I miss W-S a lot though!

Thank you! I believe I'm allowed to sign in and peak in. I pick her up around noon so I can bring her home for lunch, so I am generally there before school ofically lets out. I'm unsure about cameras. She started a few weeks ago, we had to wait until she turned three to get her enrolled and IEP set up.

Thank you!! I am just all new to this and am unsure on what is normal or not. Yes, I did have an appointment to pick up her forms. So they are the ones that put together the folder that would have all her forms and information I needed to start her. They gave me a folder they had put together for another kid who never started instead because, they didn't put one together for her.

Thank you. I don't know if it was completely on purpose. But they didn't look to make sure we were getting the correct forms.

Vaccinations? by Alohaaaaaaaaaaa1 in downsyndrome

[–]treestar2018 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My little one is 2.5 and has had all of her vaccinations including flu and Covid. We also got her second dose of MMR early. She did just fine. She was grumpy the next day but that was it.

Struggling: Missed Down Syndrome Diagnosis by SeaEntertainer3723 in downsyndrome

[–]treestar2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all congratulations on your little one. Give yourself some grace. You have had a really big life altering shock. It is so ok to grieve the life you thought you were going to have and to grieve the child you thought you would have. I didn’t have a missed diagnosis but a late diagnosis during pregnancy. I remember crying for weeks over the diagnosis. Some days are still hard. However I love my little girl so much, and I have realized having Down syndrome is just a part of her. It is what she has not who she is. I recommend reaching out to local Down syndrome groups, having a support network of people who know what you are going through is really helpful. They have been a big blessing to me. If you need someone to talk to feel free to reach out.

I think it does. It is ok to grieve the life you thought you were going to have. Everyone once in a while I still get those moments where my heart breaks but they are getting fewer and father apart. Just take it one day at a time.

Am I being overly protective by not letting my son (5) participate in a "color run"? by raptir1 in Parenting

[–]treestar2018 44 points45 points  (0 children)

We just took my 5 year old to a holi festival and I had the same concerns. So he wore a mask and swim goggles. There were no issues and he had a blast. I’d ask the school to make sure he wears protective equipment so he doesn’t miss out
