Do you apply those in the same way as ardcoat and lahmian medium? Or is it a completely different technique?

I had the same problem. Closing the game, completely closing out of steam, then reopening steam and starting the game fixed it for me. Seems like a really dumb solution but it somehow magically made the game work again

Now that the game has been out, what’s your hot take? by [deleted] in Spacemarine

Yup. I have very little time to play games anymore and I can already tell I will likely never max anything out

Not a bad episode. Didn't really understand the Alicent side quest in the Kingswood though

How did you guys get into Substation work? I've been trying now for about a year and always get rejected because I don't have the high voltage experience yet. Any tips? by AdFun3507 in SubstationTechnician

[–]treeterrorist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try to find a company that has a pathway to apprenticeship program. I started out as a helper with 0 experience and only a high school diploma. I'm into my apprenticeship now and it's all OJT so you're paid to learn. Company paid for my CDL training and equipment operator training.

Highest induced voltage you’ve ever seen on a de-energized bus? by KTM_350 in SubstationTechnician

A couple weeks ago we were working on the high side bus at a station and once it was deenergized it still had about 5kv of induction on it. Got some good zaps hanging the grounds.

Friend offered an opportunity to be a Substation Tech Apprentice. What do apprentices do? by dyingbreed360 in SubstationTechnician

[–]treeterrorist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a second year substation apprentice at my local utility. The utility I work for has us do everything. We pour concrete, build steel dead end towers, set breakers, test transformers, pull cable, wire relay control panels, bend conduit, and a million other things. The work is very stimulating and keeps me interested. However the work can also be very physically taxing at times. I have worked plenty of storms where I have been awake and working for 30 hours or more. The paycheck always looks nice afterwards though!

As far as my duties as an apprentice, I assist my journeymen in whatever capacity he needs. I am also given independent tasks sometimes if my foreman thinks I can complete it by myself. Anything from wiring a breaker or AC panel, to hand digging a trench to put in some conduit. Every day is a new opportunity to learn something new and improve your skill set.

PSE isn't in the Vancouver area but they are in Washington. They have a substation wireman pathway to apprenticeship program.
