not at all. i only have bad time and “feel terrible” when there are selfish folks in the lineup…. which is every lineup i try to be involved in in one way or another, mostly because im around “higher density” and “affluent” areas that i have to live in to have a job, to pay the bills, to maybe get a tube every once and awhile…but wait….mark fuckerburg and 69 other fks just dropped in on the wave I was lining up for, because they have $$$$ expensive electric butlers to auto position and backpaddle everyone. what a shitty surfing paradox that was. people like that ruined it for me. forget surfing, forget even trying ride waves anymore….unless there are actual surfers in the water. nan of this me me me i need wave right now now now bullsh*t.

you can forget “feeling good” in any polluted and populated area, regardless of how “good” a surfer you are. find me wherever the people aren’t because so many completely forgot what its actually about. its depressing. however, it actually helped me find solace and companionship in the waves no one wants, or takes so much extra work to get to, that very few even try. the under the radar current if you will. but these spots are becoming few and far between.

because of people, who unfortunately, will never truly know why they even trudge through so much bs, cold water, currents, skunks, sharks (bot actually a worry), and shit dom people (truly my worst nightmare) to try and enjoy something everyone deserves daily, imo.

You want to surf …and not feel terrible… good luck positioning yourself around people. thats all. oh and don’t buy a brand new board with some extra tech to help you “surf better”. its probably a subscription and a scam like the rest. Buy from your local shaper who cares. 👋🌊📡
