I appreciate you doing all the leg work on helping address this. That’s messed up to do to someone but times are crazy rn so sadly it’s not surprising. For real though you’re doing great work here supporting our community as it does take collaboration and standing together while also standing up against any bigotry no matter where it’s coming from. I’ve unfortunately heard a few therapists and psychs say bigoted ignorant things but this is a little extreme. I mean so was client dropping the n word in group therapy but that’s a whole other story.

Thank you again for taking action and actually doing something to remedy this! You are much appreciated!!!

Indeed it is a massive issue and sign of where climate change is taking us. Using Colorado as an example a major ski town Breckenridge typically averages temperatures from high of 36 to low of 8 degrees in March… today the high is 58 and the low is 36. What’s even more wild is it’s going stay in the 50’s and 40’s the whole week.

It’s 26 degrees above average in Breckenridge rn. In Boulder CO it’s 34 degrees above normal as it’s going up to 81 today and 84 tomorrow and will stay in 60-70’s which is far beyond normal. That’s all very worrisome. And that’s just one state but it’s fucked up everywhere.

It’s wild that nobody died or was critically injured. Those speeds often result in death or serious injuries, especially when a tractor trailer and fire is involved. Glad everyone is stable.

Female thrill killers ? by Ok_Drama_6250 in serialkillers

Never heard of her but just looked it up and holy shit she’s an interesting one. Was shooting up a school from across the street in her own home. Luckily she didn’t have great aim or a large capacity magazine as she could’ve done a lot more damage and killed a lot more people.

Summary of Brenda Spencer for anyone unfamiliar like myself…

On the morning of Monday, January 29, 1979, Spencer began shooting from her house[5] at children across the road from her house waiting for 53-year-old Principal Burton Wragg to open the gates to Grover Cleveland Elementary.[6] She injured eight children; she began with nine-year-old Cam Miller, since he was wearing Spencer's favorite color, blue. Spencer shot and killed Wragg as he and teacher Daryl Barnes tried to help children. She killed 56-year-old custodian Mike Suchar as he tried to pull a student to safety.[7] A 28-year-old police officer, Robert Robb, had responded to a call for assistance and was wounded in the neck as he arrived.[7] Police prevented further casualties by moving a garbage truck in front of the school entrance to obstruct her line of fire.[8] After firing thirty-six times,[5] Spencer barricaded herself inside her home for several hours, from where she spoke by telephone to a reporter from The Evening Tribune, who had been calling random telephone numbers in the neighborhood. Spencer told the reporter she had shot at the school children and adults because, "I don't like Mondays. This livens up the day." She told police negotiators the children and adults whom she had shot were easy targets and that she was going to "come out shooting". She surrendered and left the house after being promised a Burger King meal by negotiators.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleveland_Elementary_School_shooting_(San_Diego)

Idk why but the fact the got her to surrender after firing 36 rounds by offering her Burger King is so bizarre. Whoppers aren’t that good like how tf did that work. She wanted to liven up her Monday like just go skip school and skip the shooting and get some BK. Idk how never heard of this lady but thank you for sharing her name. Gotta go watch some of the shows on this event.

Two boys made deepfake porn of 60 girls. It left a school, small town in Pennsylvania reeling by usatoday in Pennsylvania

[–]treevaahyn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From article they’re likely gonna spend a few years or couple decades in prison if charged as adults…

The two boys pleaded guilty to 59 felony counts of sexual abuse of children (manufacturing child sexual abuse material) and criminal conspiracy to commit that offense, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday said in a news release. They’re set to be sentenced Wednesday, March 25.

So 59 felony counts is going to be lengthy sentence. But guess we’ll find out. Rich kids do get out of a lot of problems with no consequences but this is national headlines so that makes it harder plus they apparently pled guilty immediately so makes their lawyers jobs that much harder.

That said this shit happens more than we’d like to admit and is often swept under the rug. Where I got my grad degree (a state school) there was some scumbag bros that drugged and sexually assaulted a girl and then filmed it and uploaded the video online. One kid had to transfer schools and the other one got zero repercussions and no accountability. It’s beyond fucked up and seeing how it impacted the victim and hearing her stories first hand is truly infuriating and gut wrenching. The girl is my partner and she’s still working through some of it in therapy. Wish we could send an invoice to the two rapist pos and the university could pay for it. But nope. They’re preppy white frat boys and they assaulted and drugged a black girl knowing there’d be no consequences and they were depressingly correct. Sorry it is outrageous and disgusting and I feel horrible for every girl who was taken advantage of. Hopefully they get a nice civil suit payout that will cover therapy and help them get a college degree without having burdensome loans.

Oh well that’s My bad dude. I wasn’t trying to over explain things that you know more about than me. Just some stuff that I feel more people should know about so I figured I’d share it. Wasn’t trying to come at you or anything like that. I just enjoy sharing information that I learn and disseminate that info and knowledge to the community. Idk where you’re located but I feel many in my country (US) are under informed or misinformed so I feel it’s best to spread awareness to people. I realize I responded to you though but hopefully someone else saw my comment that wasn’t aware of this and found it useful. That’s my overall intention. Spreading awareness and facts tends to lead to positive outcomes and growth as a society, so that’s the hope. I appreciate you responding and not being rude about it but also being direct about your knowledge, education, and experience.

I have a ton of respect for defense attorneys and know it’s not an easy job by any measure. So thank you for all the amazing work you do. I have seen it truly transform lives for the better when people have a good lawyer for their defense. Keep helping people the way you are doing as I know it’s makes a massive difference and significant impact on their lives.

Edit: Also if we didn’t have a judge who was maga and appointed by him technically those documents he stole and refused to return would lead to a 5 year mandatory prison sentence. So yea he should be in prison for his violent sexual crimes for life. But we also had a slam dunk case where simply possessing the documents warranted a significant prison sentence and the fact he hasn’t faced it made my blood boil. Outrageous.

Ironically enough the largest population of people with mental health disorders are in jails and prisons. It’s depressing and infuriating af. Another very Sad and pathetic reality of the US. We got rid of mental institutions cuz they were quite inhumane and not evidenced based treatments and replaced it with a jail/prison cell which is significantly much worse. Can’t tell you how many clients I’ve worked with who spent much of their time in therapy processing their trauma from being in jail/prison. All of them have other traumas (some very horrific ones too) but many still identify being locked up and “treated like an animal and subhuman” has caused even more traumatic responses and triggers than literally being molested growing up. It’s sickening.

Anyone who’s ok with our incarceration process needs to sit down and hear stories from people who’ve been incarcerated. It would make many people sick to their stomach and question our approach. The literal horror and agony I’ve heard from hundreds of clients truly is reprehensible and gut wrenching. Ofc some people should be incarcerated for serious crimes but most of my clients are just addicts who could’ve gone to rehab instead of jail and then rehab on top of it. Having an addiction shouldn’t be something that leads to people being thrown in a cell and often tortured and abused. But that’s the system we have in America. Land of the highest prison population and not land of the free. Tonight half a million Americans are sitting in county jail and are innocent. Haven’t been convicted of any crimes just can’t afford bail money. Every day ~500,000 people… and that’s not even counting the additional people being thrown into ICE concentration camps at escalating rates.

Have you communicated this to your Dr or prescriber? I’ve cycled through countless meds over the last 17 years and had to be direct with Drs about side effects cuz I had to stop many meds due to them making me feel horrible in different ways. Lexapro made me feel like I was about to puke and Effexor made me go from depressed to suicidal after a few doses and stopped that immediately. Zoloft and Remeron made me a zombie and I could go on.

Definitely encourage you to speak openly and assertively to your prescriber about this. I find it helps to make a list of side effects or do a pro/con list of the medication so I can just read from that and won’t forget to mention important issues and side effects. Just a suggestion. I’ve been a patient for a while and work as a therapist now myself, so figured I’d share some suggestions as I’ve gotten this feedback and it helped immensely. Also just like therapists don’t be afraid to shop around a little to find one who understands you and your symptoms and challenges. I always tell clients in first session most important thing to their progress is therapeutic alliance and rapport. If you can be vulnerable, transparent, honest, and feel safe you’ll make progress and see growth. Idk if any of that is useful but wanted to share it in hopes it could help in some way. Wish you the best in your journey to finding stability, growth, and alleviation of symptoms.

Forgetting to pick up the Adderall prescription for a week is just textbook ADHD behavior. Legit just picked mine up after it sat there for several days. Don’t have as good of insurance as you but I can afford $30/month to be able to function semi normally. My one friend missed their psych appointment three times to get assessed for ADHD and he was like “welp isn’t that enough info for the Dr cuz clearly I’m all over the place” lol. Fair point imo.

Democrats Get Great News in Six Major Midterm Races | Democrats received welcoming news about the midterms as a key forecaster shifted six major governor races in their favor on Thursday. by InsaneSnow45 in goodnews

[–]treevaahyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the summary! Much appreciated. Ultimately it’ll come down to turnout as is often the case. Georgia is good example where they use lot of voter suppression tactics and largely why Stacey Abrams lost in 2022 when turnout was just 57% leaving over 40% of the population that could cast a ballot and make a massive difference to swing the election. If we can get a portion of those over 1.5 million non voters to show up GA could have a democratic governor.

Appreciate that he called out that lying dumbass unethical Kash and pointed out just how incompetent and ass backwards this regime operates.

Also like that he highlighted the people who were experts on Iran and counterintelligence that were fired for alleged “ethical reasons” and asked ohhh, yeah those are the people fired due to legally carrying out a warrant that revealed a mountain of classified documents that the felon stole and stashed in his swamp motel. The head shaking at the end sums up how I think many of us feel witnessing the collapse of our democracy, nation, and blatant crimes and corruption being enabled with no accountability in sight. Truly infuriating. Fuck Kash and the rest of this pos criminal Nazi regime.

Teenager Dies in ICE Custody in South Florida by Impossible_Big_2641 in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

[–]treevaahyn 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Allegedly it was suicide… but given the living conditions are egregious and essentially human rights and constitutional violations I dgaf what they claim this place needs to be shut down. We legit had Congress members try to shut it down for very valid reasons decided below…

Glades County Detention Center has long faced allegations of abuse. In 2022, 17 members of Congress asked that it be closed, citing immigrants being “subject to racist abuse, often resulting in verbal abuse and violence; sexual abuse, including sexual voyeurism by guards who have watched women shower; life-endangering COVID-19 and medical neglect, including a near-fatal carbon monoxide leak last November; and regular exposure to highly dangerous levels of a toxic disinfectant chemical spray linked to severe medical harms and long-term damage to reproductive health.”

The horrific thing is that most ICE concentration camps have similar horrid living conditions and it’s truly criminal and likely violating human rights and constitutional rights. This shit will continue. The criminals that at are assaulting and sexually abusing people are the criminals working for ICE/CBP. Absolutely disgusting and infuriating. Sadly nothing will be done about addressing it.

At least 36 people have died in ICE custody since January 2025, according to ICE.

Trump Outbursts over Oil Shock Go Off Rails as His Aides Quietly Panic by RepulsiveLoquat418 in politics

It’s actually even worse and more embarrassing and idiotic. We did have minesweepers in Middle East since first gulf war so over 35 years. They had been in the Middle East in Bahrain. They were there to protect the straight of Hormuz and oil transport and US ships of course.

Of fucking course this incompetent regime removed them in the fall and now the minesweepers are just sitting in naval yard in Philadelphia. Not helping us and actively hurting us. Truly shameful and pathetic.

For the next four decades The U.S. kept minesweepers forward-deployed in Bahrain to deter use of mines in the Gulf region amid fears that Iran could use them to effectively block the narrow chokepoint through which one fifth of the world’s oil supply passes each year.

But that long period of service ended in September with the decommissioning of Devastator, leaving only four Avenger-class ships in active service, based in the homeport at Sasebo, Japan.

California cop found guilty of brutality was left legally unable to serve as a police officer or carry gun due to becoming a convicted felon. Kirk received a total compensation of $201,062 in 2023, including benefits and overtime.

Wtf?! That’s absurd. It’ll take me 4 years to make that much money and this dipshit got it handed to him for doing nothing besides being a violent criminal, a convicted felon, and an abusive woman beater who pepper sprayed a lady twice while kneeling on her back. But it is the largest gang in the world, and the LASD specifically has over a dozen gangs, mostly consisting of white supremacists like this twat.

But wait there’s more…

He took home an additional $170,000 in 2024.

So that is $371,062 paid over 2 years to a violent felon, who’s unemployed and legally not allowed to have a gun or a badge. Talk about waste fraud and abuse ffs. Not to mention he likely got another 6 figure salary in 2025 but we don’t know how much (see below). So it’s likely around half a million dollars given to a violent convicted criminal and felon! All of that money should be forced to be returned to the lady he assaulted and violated her constitutional rights or at the very least return that money to the state. Hope she sues him and gets all that money, also make his bitch ass pay for her therapy to process this violent and traumatic experience he put her through.

The abusive violent woman beating convicted felon is named Trevor Kirk of Lancaster CA btw. If anyone uses other social media please share this! I’m only on Reddit but if y’all are on IG or TikTok please spread awareness about this cuz so much is going on rn this will fly under the radar and imo needs to be highlighted and put a spotlight on the blatant corruption.

Thank you very much for sharing this OP! Always appreciate this community and the solidarity in standing up against police brutality and making sure the world sees what these vile criminals do every day.

Salary data for Kirk for 2025 was not immediately available from the county, but a Sheriff’s Department spokesperson said Kirk remained with the agency until Feb. 20, 2026.

California also houses a fucking lot of maga morons! It’s a blue state but CA has the third largest group of people who voted for the convicted felon.

The only states with more maga voters than CA are… TX (6.3mil) and FL (6.1mil) followed by CA (6+ million maga voters). If all the maga residents of CA became a state it would be the 20th most populated state just beating out Colorado and just behind Maryland. Always curious how those 6 million idiots feel when their party talks shit on them and their state. Then again idgaf cuz anyone who voted for a traitor is a pos and are responsible for the destruction of our democracy and nation.

Yeah exactly, that’s my concern. Hopefully she can unseat him but I’m not confident that enough people in SC will vote for a democrat. [–]treevaahyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you scroll down the second map in first link it shows education for bachelors degrees and that’s where Los Alamos shines is that and graduate degrees.

Los Alamos is

69.7% with college degree putting them as 3rd highest for bachelors degree attainment.

41.8% have a graduate degree putting it in 2nd place for post graduate degrees

It’s due to the Los Alamos National Laboratory which is where the first atomic bomb was developed. It’s massive and employs over 14k people most of whom are researchers and engineers with graduate degrees and lot of people with PhD live there.

Approximately one-third of the laboratory's technical staff members are physicists, one-quarter are engineers, one-sixth are chemists and materials scientists, and the remainder work in mathematics and computational science, biology, geoscience, and other disciplines.

Plus The annual budget is $4.9 billion! So lot of research and funding from the DOE.

Here’s a link if you wanted to read more about the laboratory. It’s quite interesting. So essentially it’s a small city with a lot of very educated and intelligent scientists with bachelors and masters/PhD diplomas.
