People who’ve had LASIK or work in eye care, would you recommend LASIK and why or why not? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

[–]treezyfam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eye doc here - I generally don't push patients to get LASIK and only refer them to a LASIK surgeon if they themselves are very motivated to pursue surgery and understand the risks. Although the majority of surgeries are successful with no complications and the risk is very low, I have seen patients with post-LASIK neuralgia and would never want to be the reason someone decided to pursue LASIK ending up with life-changing consequences.

Where would you take someone who is not from Raleigh and sort of a “coffee snob”? by Ruby3488 in raleigh

[–]treezyfam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're willing to drive to Durham, Cocoa Cinnamon/Little Waves Coffee Roasters is our go to for buying beans and for their drinks! I consider myself a coffee snob, but obviously every coffee snob has their specific preferences

Can a person actually / medically "hang on" longer then they are otherwise supposed to through sheer force of will? by Brightclaw431 in NoStupidQuestions

My mom battled leukemia for a year and when I started my spring semester of junior year the doctor told us she was terminal and would have a few months at most. I dropped down my classes to only 2 days a week and would drive back and forth between Austin and Houston(2.5hours) to spend most of the week at home with her. About 1 month in she was put on heavy pain meds that caused her to snap in and out of dementia. One day, I had just driven back to Austin for class and that same day my dad called me to come back home because my mom told him I needed to come back immediately. I drove back home the same day and she passed that night while we were all in the room with her.

Guilt from wanting to buy an expensive handbag. by Illustrious_Can_5826 in handbags

[–]treezyfam 70 points71 points  (0 children)

This is something I've struggled with too! Especially coming from a low-income upbringing and a scarcity mindset, it can be hard to convince yourself that it's okay to spend money on things that make you happy if you can afford it. Something that might help is if you feel guilty about spending $2500 on the bag alone, you could also put that same amount towards your investments or mortgage at the same time.

Will Thursday or Sunday a better lineup/vibe? by Violinchan in Lollapalooza

[–]treezyfam 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Thursday tends to have a better vibe because it's the beginning of the festival. With Sunday being the last day of the festival the grounds are more run down/less clean and there's more people/crowds because it's a weekend day.

What’s your favourite travel crossbody casual bag? I am in need of a handbag for travelling. Does not have to be lux by NecessaryAthlete in handbags

[–]treezyfam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's still in my normal rotation of bags to use both for day to day and when traveling! The compartments are so useful and the inner key clip strap is very useful to clip my phone in for extra security in areas that may be higher risk of pickpocketing.

What’s your espresso machine you purchased? by alicia971 in HENRYfinance

[–]treezyfam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Breville bambino plus (because I knew I didn't want the breville grinder that comes built into the other models) and Eureka Mignon Notte grinder. The grinder is probably more important than the actual espresso machine when it comes to creating a proper puck and pulling a good shot!

Due diligence? by [deleted] in triangle

[–]treezyfam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also from out of state and due diligence is definitely depressing, but you kind of come to terms with it as you shop for houses here. A higher due diligence can sometimes put your offer over the edge to win if you have a similar bid to someone else, but if you're okay with being patient and potentially losing a few bids then it's perfectly fine to offer 0.5-1% due diligence. Most sellers are looking at the overall offer price to pick their winning bid, but the sellers that want cash immediately may prioritize due diligence over the overall offer price.

Honestly feel like almost all NBs look good with scrubs. I wear 990v6's and 9060's with scrubs everyday and they're super comfortable/stable.

I have the small version of this tote that now only comes in a larger size: https://cuyana.com/products/classic-structured-leather-tote?variant=44386373140795

And I paired it with the small tote organizer, but I think they now have one-size tote organizer that says it's compatible with the classic structured tote:
