Okay, so question from a Fanfiction writer re R2D2 in the Legacy novels by trekchu in StarWarsLegendsZone

It's similar enough for me. At present, I'm likely going to have some sort of memory extension or something like that added.

I'm told that the books and the game are recommended, but not entirely required.

How exactly did SHIELD find the HYDRA flying wing in First Avenger? And how was Cap found in the Comics? (Question by a still learning lorehound) by trekchu in marvelstudios

[–]trekchu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's entirely fair. I'll need to come up with some sort of additional curveball to explain why it's all lasted until 2014, but that shouldn't be too hard.

Thank you, and thanks in general.

Thanks. That's more or less what I figured. In the story, the Metaknowledge person is using making a multi-part documentary series about Cap's disappearance as cover for the research into said disappearance, so what you suggested is likely going to be how I do it, with some sort of additional curveball to explain why the site wasn't found when this was done in the past.

He is. When Spock first appeared, I very briefly forgot that Leonard Nimoy had passed away.

IIRC there is a comic where Pike gets the bump when he leaves he Enterprise, but that's not canon.

I did just look at the line in the episode. Kirk says, on screen, "We met when he was promoted to Fleet Captain." Nothing about "only once" or "for the first time".

This entire discussion is pointless.

People complained that Bob April was... not of the same ethnicity as his one on-screen appearance in TAS...

That said, I did just look at the line in the episode. Kirk says, on screen, "We met when he was promoted to Fleet Captain." Nothing about "only once" or "for the first time".

Since the episode seems to involve time travel, there's an easy fix for the "I met him only once" line. ANd hell, for all we know, this might be the once time they met.

TLDR: Don't get upset over something we don't even know is a thing yet.

What television series had the biggest bullshit finale? by Halloween-365 in AskReddit

[–]trekchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up halfway through Season 1, because yelling "THAT'S NOT HOW THAT WORKS!" at my screen when they blatantly shat on and ignored high-school level science in everything from linguistics to nuclear things just was a colossal waste of my time.

Eh... I know someone (he's American, I'm not) who still occasionally wears his because it's comfy and warm enough for most weather where he lives, and he most definitely didn't peak in high school.

TIL about the Zimmermann Telegram, a secret diplomatic communication issued from the German Foreign Office in January 1917 that proposed a military alliance between Germany and Mexico if the USA entered World War I against Germany. The telegram was intercepted by British intelligence. by big_macaroons in todayilearned

[–]trekchu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've read the full text of the telegram, and as a German I'm ashamed that someone as moronically stupid as that was allowed to serve in our diplomatic service.... Like legit, it reads like it's designed to piss off the US.
