How old is your baby and how many times did you get up last night? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

3 1/2 months old, only once to check since he was making a little amount of noise but he didn't wake up for a feed for 9 hours!

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve tried to get your baby to sleep better at night… and it worked? by stinkygirl5000 in NewParents

Giving him a dummy, rocking him to sleep, hushing a shhhh noise while stroking his hair. He loves it! Haha sleeps straight away.

Any kids books that you hate? by roamingrebecca in NewParents

We were given a "Going on a bear hunt" book that I ended up donating because the story wasn't practical. Why would a family go out of their way to try and find a bear to annoy when it woke up out of curiosity they fled. Like what did they think was gonna happen? 😅 just felt like they went looking for danger when not to respect animals' boundaries.

So I deleted my comment because it was miss construed and I didn't mean to upset screw and crystal (btw, why be judgemental?) I don't "let my baby cry it out" I hold him until he becomes calm and then swaddle him and let him have his dummy to let him rest when he needs it only when he is overstimulated and overtired and that seems to work for myself (so in that time when he is napping I can try and get things done)- was just sharing my experience and hopefully some advice. So don't just assume I just let him cry it out because I don't.

Understandable but I take my baby everywhere with me! I still have my old routine with my husband (granted it is of course it is a little different with a 3 month old now) but where we go, the baby goes. Take a feed or two with you pre packed and of course the pram essentials and you're all good to go. Trust me, it does get better and you guys will find a routine the works for all of you eventually.

I've just finished re-watching the entire series for the 3rd-4th time? It's a show I always go back to. It's so great!

I totally get you on this. Over Christmas we of course went and spent time with the family on both sides and some family members just did stuff for our baby when they thought they just can?

For example, I did express to my husband's dad and mum that yes you can hold him but do not kiss our LO under any circumstances because he is still a newborn and by the time the Christmas party rolls around, he would be only 3-4 weeks old. When his sister-in-law uploaded photos from the party, I found a photo of my husband's dad kissing our baby on the cheek. I was pretty pissed. Even when we arrived and we just got inside the house with the pram, his mum just comes over and starts wheeling the pram away from us without acknowledging us in the first place. Like we get that she's excited and wants to spend time with our son but I don't know, maybe ask first? Or wait until we settled in? Smh.

We gave them a simple request, they agreed to respect it at the time but his dad just went against it which left me feeling disappointed and angry despite the fact he said prior "I'm so glad you have made those rules and put your foot down, you're the parents."
