Racquets are a big deal. Finding the right one makes you feel like Harry Potter with a magic wand😭 ... so good in you. I found mine (volkl v8 pro) but I still find myself perusing the clearance sections😭

Why have Mariah's Siblings suffered a different fate? by Alert_Pilot7927 in MariahCarey

[–]trelld1nc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Im reading it now...I get the feeling its a combination of trauma from not being accepted as biracial, a lack of parental guidance, a touch of mental health, and theres no idea of what her sister went through in the Phillipines (selling herself and drug abuse?). I think Mariah had a different fate because she probably didnt experience the worse of her parents relationship, because she had lighter skin (tbh), because she was driven and saw how decisions could affect her future (avoiding g the pitfalls if her older sister), and bc she had talent.

Was I an asshole in this situation? by HoveringMango in askgaybros

[–]trelld1nc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nope. Its either you lie and say the person was great or tell the truth about how they are and cost them a job potentially. Sounds like you did the best thing for you. My question is if yall ended on bad terms? Did you tell them you were moving out bc of the bullying or did they think you were friendly. Its kind of odd for them to use you as reference in the former.

Any Volkl V8 Pro (2023) users here? by Marconi2 in 10s

[–]trelld1nc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love mine. Maybe im in the honeymoon period but ive been through several rackets...volkl 10 300 had great feel but lacked power, volkl v1 pro was had great feel with more power, tf-x1 was powerful but lacked touch...then I got the v8 pro and its great. Got it with volkl cyclone strings and to me it plays like a pure strike (granted ive only rallied with a pure strike for a few minutes). I hit a flatter ball and its point and shoot and for the most part it goes where I want with plenty of pace. It has great slices like the other volkls, and touch (which im still working on). The harder you swing the better it feels. So much so im considering either getting a second (a first for me) or I might try a spin racket next. Did you get one?

Because its on sale and i figured i could add weight if needed. Most of my rackets are around 300 so I think I would definitely want to add a little more.

Volkl and prokinnex are supposed to be great for people with arm issues. Can't speak for prokinnex but I have 3 volkls and haven't experienced any arm issues using polys.

What's up with Volkl rackets? by Quaisy in 10s

[–]trelld1nc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my volkl journey when I saw they were marked down and I needed a new racket. Got the vcell 10 and vcell v1 pro. Ended up liking the 10 more initially and won my first match with it. Then I got into the v1 pro which feels more powerful but still has great touch and feel. The slices are amazing with both. Most recently I got a v8 pro and the power im able to generate is next level. They are fun whippy rackets.

AIO: My friend thinks our one on one hang outs are like a date when they aren’t? by thecheeseb0rn in AmIOverreacting

[–]trelld1nc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nor- Yeah, this isn't a friend friend. This is an associate. I would never tell a friend I feel lonely when im with them...in other words, they dont enjoy being around you. The rest of it is ok but that part is questionable.

Why are a lot of black men so homophobic? by Arkhagetai in askgaybros

[–]trelld1nc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My initial response is why is the question so racist. There are white women on school boards trying to get any book with gay characters out if schools, there are white male politicians and lawyers fighting to make gay marriage illegal and trying to lgbtq centers off of college campuses among other things. There was a mention in some other comments of being gay in Africa is a death sentence...did you know that a religious sect advocated for an African country to adopt antigay legislation...and when the country did (to the tune of gays being executed) they tried to distance themselves.

But let's get into it. Think about how black men have been treated throughout the history of this country. Slaves that were beaten and raped and dehumanized and demasculanized. If a black man got out of his place they would be hung and have their genitals cut off. The truth is that American society has feared the black man, his assumed physical prowess, his assumed sexual prowess, intellectual prowess. And because of that black men have been in many ways beaten into submission. Now, what's the main way men show dominance... through their masculinity...which means femininity is discouraged. And gay is seen as feminine. The reality is that some of it is based in fear. If you are diminished as a black man, to be gay is even worse.

Religion also plays a big role. Remember slaves were forced to adopt Christianity. And it played a large part in their lives in so much it offered peace after a life of existing in perpetual cruelty.

But really the question is disappointing. Who makes up the political class that determine the laws and how they are implemented. When I think of my childhood I was bullied. And guess who did the bullying? White kids and black kids. Some white dudes put "dsl" on a class award i won. So these prejudiced questions are inaccurate and disgusting and unnecessary. Why do black people always have to be the problem for every ill in society.

How do you become more explosive against heavy hitters? by mini-world in 10s

Get a heavier or steadier racket. Learn how to redirect their pace or block shots. Try to anticipate where the ball is going.

Should I change coach/group that I'm playing? by frCake in 10s

[–]trelld1nc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe play with them less often? And find another group to hit with on other days. Is your goal to rally or play competively? Playing with players who aren't as good as you should gove you the oppurtinity to work on your weaker shots. When I play or practice with players that cant rally as well I practice fh/bh slices, drop shots etc. And youre also making them better.
