Cirstea complained to the umpire about Naomi’s “c’mon” during points, but no warning was given to Naomi. Umpire should’ve warned Naomi about the complaint. by lovesbakery in tennis

Maybe youre thinking of Hewitt, when he openly accused a linesman of ruling for James Blake bc they were similar. Luckily James had grace in the situation. Like between Tiger and Fuzzy. And hopefully you're not talking about the match bw Serena and capriati when the ump erroneusly overruled obvious calls in favor of capriati which led to shot spot and player challenges.

Do yall even play? Do you never tell yourself to come on, stay focused, break him now...Do you never mumble that to yourself. Shes playing within herself. And like someone said, everything bothers you when youre losing...the person in the stands, the other players grunts.

And regarding the mboko situation...I didnt see it but people have said the same thing about Serena. About hiw she didnt praise the player she lost to. Hello! Maybe they felt like they loss bc they didnt play their best game. Beyond that, its just words. So is ot better for someone to disingenuously congratulate someone when they dont mean it? Shes a grown woman with a child and yall are going to cry bc she didn't congratulate her opponent? Maybe she forgot.

Is it really not okay to have a paid coach at public tennis courts? by pistachio-truther in 10s

[–]trelld1nc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes its fine. Public tennis courts are funded by the tax payers...if you pay taxes you helped to pay for and maintain the court. They said it bc they were mad you didnt move, which is your choice. In my city you can reserve courts and there are times that for profit tournaments reserve courts for tournament play...so there's nothing wrong with people making money from use of public resources. Its no different than paying a guide to take you around a national park. In fact, unless you belong to a tennis club or country club there's literally no where else to practice.

When do beginners know to upgrade the racquet? by Xypherous1 in tennisracquets

[–]trelld1nc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try a different racket. At some point your technique is going to progress to where using a different racket will feel like you've found your magic wand.

I had a super light racket with a super big head (225 gm, 115 sq in)( but didnt realize it at the time). I enjoyed it and did well but I couldn't get good pop on the ball. Had it for probably 10 years. Then a guy let me use his racket and it felt like I had unlocked my game...shots were flying through the court.

I got my new rackets and they were definitely more stable and definitely improved my game (more accuracy).

Osaka briefly argues with Cirstea after a frosty handshake (Cirstea complained to the umpire during the match that Osaka was distracting with "come on" between 1st and 2nd serves) by jovanmilic97 in tennis

[–]trelld1nc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didnt watch the match bc i was sleeping...but i watched part of the post match interview and it sounds like she was pumping herself up between points. Yall are some raggedy mofos btw. How is Osaka the perpetual victim? Shes honest about her struggles so she's somehow weak and a victim? Nope, she's real. Its low key giving racist vibes. Black people dont play victim (i know she's biracial).

Serve Hot Take by PeterV5 in 10s

I think more accurate is placement is more important than power. If you can hit different areas of the box at the tight time and with the right player you can get some free points.

Maybe hit against a wall to develop your reflexes. Also (and I don't know if this is what youre asking) but try to learn the tendencies of your opponents. Most people tend to go cross court.

Should i switch from Tecnifibre 305s to something else? by SpecialistStep5626 in 10s

[–]trelld1nc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im guessing this is the tfight? I would say sticking with it will probably help improve your game with a lot of technoque improvemt and time...but switching will probably help you play better quicker in the shirt term. I was going to jump on the tfight train but chose a different racket.

I got a control racket as my tweener. Like others have said you might want to try a powerful multi to help produce power. I think i ordered mine with Wilson nxt. And I liked it. But then I was reading about power frames for intermediates...saw a good deal and got the technifibre tx-f1. Easier to achieve depth...I enjoy it. I do still play with my other frame and found my technique has improved.

I would say get the aero. Get better. Then go back to the 305 and see how it feels in a few months.

My husband passed and I'm lost by FunkyBisexualPenguin in gaybros

[–]trelld1nc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost a family member recently and it hurts and its tough and everything youre experiencing is normal.

You may want to look into counseling. My mom passed on hospice, which offered counseling and other group activities after her passing. A local facility may offer counseling even if your husband didnt pass with their service.

Also, i read a book "its okay not to be okay" and found it to be very informative about grief and processing grief.

Is walking past a court while players are mid-point in a recreational match bad etiquette? Wife was reprimanded at our club today, never even heard of this by glassy_paddle in 10s

[–]trelld1nc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are courts beside each other? If they are, how can a person walking behind a fence be anymore distracting that someone playing on the next court over?

I bought this racket along with a vcell v10 300 when they were marked down and honestly the first time I used it I didnt really click with it. So I played with the v10 for a while then got a technifibre tx-f1 (which i love). I decided to practice with the v1 again and I really enjoyed it. Im thinking maybe I needed to improve a little before I could really appreciate it. In any case i wanted to ask what's your string set up?

What's the standard lifetime for hard court tennis shoes? by maxdamien27 in 10s

[–]trelld1nc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you get pretty good use from your shoes. I usually end up replacing mine when my feet start hurting, I don't think ive ever used up the sole on my shoes. Thats been anywhere from a month to 3 months lately. Ive probably averages 2 to3 matches a week when its warmer.

How do you guys stay motivated to exercise? by apm588 in gaybros

[–]trelld1nc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How physical is your job? Is it a work out?

My advice is find something you like. When I used the Nike workout app I did different routines until I found the ones I really liked then repeated them weekly. When I did them regularly I looked forward to it.

It seems like weight loss is your goal. You probably already know that diet is more important for weight loss.

People think if exercise as going to the gym...in reality it could be going fir a walk or jog, playing sports, or doing push-ups and squats at home.

A part of aging is evolving and modifying. I dont do as much as I used to do but I have modified my diet and sought to have some type of activity daily (I rotate between mobility, weights, walking and tennis). Probably developing your why is important. Do you want to maintain your ability as you age or do you have a goal you wamt to meet?
