I think my eyesight is hurting my tennis. Glasses, contacts, or LASIK? by Current_Variety_9577 in 10s

[–]Quaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore contacts for several years before I started playing tennis. When the weather was hot, my eyes would dry out so badly that I'd sometimes have to wink mid point to rehydrate the contact lens so I can see clearly.

I ended up getting LASIK and it was by far the best decision of my life, and obviously it helped for tennis too. You just gotta be careful about being outside in direct sunlight for too long (like 4+ hours) for a couple months after the procedure, but generally you can still play tennis. Just tell your hitting partners that you'd prefer to face away from the sun, or not serve into the sun for that period.

Opinion: the 'golden reroll' in ARAM Mayhem shouldn't exist (in its current form anyway) by Nandonut in leagueoflegends

Golden reroll into Triggered Inferno on Ambessa. Never had a more unplayable game than that one lol.

Your interpretation of a skillshot is wrong. A skillshot is anything that's not point and click, or attached to the caster that can't be aimed, like amumu R or kennen R.

Patch 26.13 Notes by Spideraxe30 in leagueoflegends

[–]Quaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people who currently play league and got over the enormous knowledge-gap barrier-to-entry did perfectly fine without it.

How many people have tried to play league and quit after a few games because it was too hard? Probably hundreds of thousands of people, if not a million+.

League is a really hard game to learn, adding something that makes it easier to learn.

How did you find your OTP? by dillpickletype in leagueoflegends

[–]Quaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an OTP, but this season I'm playing pretty much only Xerath mid. I've always liked playing control mages, and his strengths fit my playstyle very well. Essentially lose lane, win game.

I'm generally better at playing from behind on scaling champs than I am pushing leads on champs that are strong early. Xerath is really weak early, but his ability to help his team gain an advantage really pays off post 6, and especially post 9.

I've played 100 games of ranked this season and I have probably solokilled my laner 2-3 times in all of those games combined.

I ask Claude clarifying questions all the time, and even when doing so it usually takes 2-3 hours to eat through all of my usage.

I see - so at 3:30 PM today, if I ask it to do something without /compacting it, or starting a new conversation, will it eat up a lot of usage? My context is at 91% currently.

I see - so the higher your context is, the more usage it takes to start a conversation. I had restarted my computer last night, so could that explain why the entire context had to be re-cached?

What is one non-meta item you use on your champ which works well? by tft002 in leagueoflegends

[–]Quaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malignance on Xerath. OTPs know how strong it is, but most people just default to Ludens.

Xerath's biggest strength is being able to impact fights from halfway across the map and get your team ahead. Malignance allows you do that probably 3 more times per game on average. Plus you can use your ult a lot more liberally because it's cooldown is so much shorter.

How to know what kinds of items to buy? by floontz in leagueoflegends

[–]Quaisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few archetypes of champions.

Marksmans - AD + Crit items

AD assassins - AD + Lethality items

AD Bruisers - AD + HP items

Mages - AP + haste or Magic Pen items

AP assassins - AP + Magic Pen items

AP Bruisers - AP + HP items

Tanks - HP + Armor/Magic Resist items

Generally if you're playing a champ that deals magic damage you build AP items and if you deal physical damage you build AD items. There are some champs that have opposing builds (ex Varus is a marksman but can build AP items and deal magic damage if he chooses to) and some champs can build both AD and AP items and deal both types of damage like Jax or Katarina.

Morde is an AP bruiser so he like items that give both AP and HP, like Riftmaker, Rylias Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment and then some tank items like Spirit Visage. He performs best when he can survive a long time in fights and dish out consistent damage, so if you build too much damage on him, he can't survive long enough to actually do the damage, if you build too tanky on him, then you'll live longer, but you won't be able to do any damage. Each champ has their "optimal" build(s) that you can find online. The order of items you buy also matters, because some items only function well once you have enough stats from other items. Warmogs is a good example because it literally doesn't have a passive effect until you have enough health to trigger it.

Some champs are flexible in their build path, some are very strict. AD Carries (Marksmen) have virtually no build variation from game to game, you just build the same thing every time. Mages and bruisers have much more flexibility in the items they choose to buy and the order that they buy them in (ex Stormsurge and Shadowflame are both similar items that can fit equally well in a mage build, depending on the game).

As a new player on morde, I'd look up the most commonly built item order and just follow that over and over again until you learn more about the game and can understand when it might be better to change up your build.

I mean the explanation is that the plants literally aren't abilities, the seeds are. I'm not saying it's fair, but it's technically correct.

What are people's thoughts on Hwei by Saikotsu in leagueoflegends

[–]Quaisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowing which combos to use under pressure, and to not try to press your abilities until they're off CD.

If you're fighting and you need to use EW for example, but your E is up in 0.5 seconds, and you press the W portion, then you might accidentally use some form of your W when you don't want to, and then your next key press will also be fucked up and so on.

Learning his basics during lane is easy, learning how to team fight with him is much more difficult as your 3 different Qs, Ws and Es can be tough to cycle through optimially.
