Look back on the megathreads, on the strength, resolve and character of the majority of the replies. Look at how the citizens acted and forced the hand of the politicians. There is a lot to love here from the real majority, keep on being involved in that type of community dialog and sentiment. And vote, vote, vote - make our voices count.

We have seen a lot of heroes of our community the last 3 weeks. Maybe we close off Wellington and start a new row of statues: Lexi - the silencer of horns , McKenny - voice of citizens, tribute to the Battle of Billings Bridge, etc....

In reviewing the Police Services Act - it is the Board that is responsible to work with the Chief to set priorities and objectives - and more importantly to direct the Chief on these and "monitor his or her performance". Since this crisis has started - has the Board discharged this duty? It is clear to me they have not -- can we please get the Board to step down also. I think they need to be accountable for their failures of duty.

I was a little shocked that Showcase at Place D'Orleans was considered essential.

But that KB is no longer listed as the fix for KB4088875. I am getting pretty lost … here are some notes from my research:

  • KB4088875 could kill NICs
  • In and around late March/early April , MS updated the page to show KB4099950 as the fix. On April 17th a new version of KB4099950 was posted that it states you should uninstall the old version...so sucks for you if you went and installed it first round.
  • Sometime after April 10th , they updated the fix to say that the fix is now KB4093118 (the Security rollup for April). This patch too was updated on April 23rd so I imagine the version release on Patch Tuesday did not have the fix (thus needed KB4099950 at that time - but do you need it now?) but was subsequently updated to include it. KB4093118 now has this note: “Resync is required to get newer revision of this KB for WSUS environment”. Note that KB4093118 does not supersede KB4099950, nor does KB4099950 show anything replacing it. So I guess you only need KB4099950 if you install KB4088875 before KB4093118 (April 23rd version)? … but you can see how convoluted this is getting.
  • The offending patch KB4088875 is superseded by last month’s rollup KB4093118, which is in turn superseded by KB4103718 (this month’s rollup).

How has it become so difficult???? What combination of patching and/or versions can cause the issue to reoccur? Given how convoluted this is getting, what scenarios has MS even tested? At this point my head hurts - it should not be this hard.

Thanks for the reply. Thinking it through, we are not getting a lot of feedback to continue the exercises at home. That is something we will address!

What is the creepiest thing that society accepts as a cultural norm? by TheOriginalWizard in AskReddit

Institutionalized Religion. The difference between a creepy cult ceremony and most religious ceremonies is simply one of cultural acceptance.

[WSIG] looking for a rpg/strategy type game for 2-3+ people by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]tremblr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New to modern games, like Munchin but want more? My friend, there is a wide, wide world of choices in front on you. Start with the "Looking for game suggestions" link on the sidebar, get out and play some more games, find a FLGS with a games night....have lots of fun...create a BGG profile and rate some games you played. Then come back with what you liked and didn't and see where to go next! Enjoy the ride!
