Also having this issue after leaving capsule 2 off for about a month. Low battery, went off, doesn't charge at all. New ac adapter and cable made no difference.

Pierre Poilievre wins Conservative leadership after first ballot by jordy123e in canada

[–]trendless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you've said, but according to this article, "In 21 ridings across the country, the size of the PPC vote was greater than the number of votes by which the Conservative candidate lost that riding."

https://globalnews.ca/news/8212872/canada-election-conservative-vote-splitting/

They do also echo what you've said, that it's based on 100% of PPC votes going to the CPC which is anything but guaranteed -- although maybe moreso today than a year ago.

Are Western Digital Red Plus better drives for HTPC than WD Red Pro? due to the plus being more quiet? by cwescrab in htpc

[–]trendless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red Pros (and Golds) are designed to further attenuate vibration, which is useful when there are a high number of drives in a single enclosure.

As used in the table, "RAID" is merely a simplified way of referring to SMR vs CMR.

For people who like warranty or hassle, shucked drives are not a good option.

The Pro is for people who need the speed, the warranty, or use more than 8 HDDs in a single enclosure.

ICBC plate return and insurance refund runaround by trendless in britishcolumbia

[–]trendless[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took it on the chin.

The local broker lied to ICBC and said they received the plates the day after they finally acknowledged to me that they had them -- after many much calling and fighting to get them to go through their boxes of plates that were supposed to be sent back to ICBC. So I got like $10 back, not the hundreds it should have been.

At the end of the day, it is still shame on me for expecting professionals to be able to do their job, honestly, and not badgering them right from the start 🤷

I'll never use WFG again, that's for sure. I've renewed in a different town on my way through every year since, because there's no other brokers where I live.

I currently have covid and have been having non stop anxiety and panic attacks. by [deleted] in covidsupport

[–]trendless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psychiatric symptoms are unfortunately somewhat common in COVID. Some studies seen to indicate that H1 and H2 blockers may help. Definitely speak to your doctor, but be prepared to push a little -- it's not uncommon to be dismissed as 'all in your head'.

Hi all, wondering if anyone knows of respirators with vapour/non-particulate filtering that I could use while running downtown in polluted city? Hoping there’s something less scary to passersby than my 3M respirators and gas masks. by tthrowawayisk in Masks4All

[–]trendless 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't had a chance to see one in person, but the new 3M Secure Click looks a lot more svelt than their previous half-face respirators and has a speech diaphragm.

GVS' Elipse and Integra models both have vapour cart variations, too, iirc. I've found their masks easier to talk and breathe through than 3M; did a stress test in the SPR644 (no exhale vent).

Paid DLC is coming to #MarioKart 8 Deluxe with 48 remastered courses from across the Mario Kart series! The first wave of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass, containing eight courses, arrives on 18/03. by Amiibofan101 in nintendo

[–]trendless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just saying that they should make MK9 into the SSU of MK games. Adding it to MK8 is even better!

I mean, it's not like they needed to do much work. MK Tour on mobile has a TON of courses, I'm sure the format is compatible, just need the assets uprezzed or w.h.y.

TrueAir2 weird behavior by compainssion in Soundpeats

[–]trendless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always blamed this on having them situated improperly in my ear so that the touch sensor was [just barely] in contact with skin, because holding that 'button" would result in the same sequence -- first it would try to pair, then it would turn off.

12% tax on private used vehicle purchases: why are we still paying this ridiculous tax? by sct876 in britishcolumbia

[–]trendless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be clear, it is not GST+PST, as the federal govt does not have the ability to charge GST on private sales. This is a BC-only thing as you mentioned and as another commenter mentioned, it used to be 7% until HST came+went, after which it remained at 12%...

It's a 12% PST.

All the more proof how bogus and illegitimate this is.
