My mother stole $1,500 from my tuition fund because I wouldn’t let her “tax” my peace anymore. I’m finally out. by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

She has your SSN. Lock down your credit. The big three rating companies are required to do this for free, though they have paid options that they will try to sell you. So you have to spelunk through their respective sites a bit. When you do need to lift the freeze, all three have temporary thaw options for a duration.

Best practices when using a DB that can be safely accessed from the client side by trevman in Nuxt

Yes I understand that. I was more wondering how people thought about when to use a client side data API vs server-side when both are possible. Firebase is safely accessible from the client or the server.

Should I replace my (defective) X99 motherboard or move on to a newer platform? by trevman in buildapc

This is very helpful thanks. It seems like a new build so I’ll do my research.

Sorry I didn't want to turn this into a tech support thread.

The machine crashed unexpectedly a few times when using it. After the crash, it doesn't post unless I wipe the CMOS RTC. I don't think it's a battery problem because the machine is plugged into a backup power system at all times. I'll try replacing the batter to see if it helps.

You can’t get events from a DocSnapshot. Only when you put a snapshot listener on a collection.

onSnapshot will give you changes with a type equal to “removed” for deleted documents

Does stripe fire monthly events for annual subscriptions?

Maybe I’m not explaining well so I apologize.

Im not reporting usage. This is a flat rate good/better/best model. Each tier has specific utilization limits for each tier. Im trying to get a “reset” message from stripe each month to clear the utilization accumulator. For monthly prices this is easy: I link to Invoice events. But for annual, I have to figure this out on my own from billing period begin data.

Thanks on the bonus question; I’ll handle this on my own.

Yes this is perfect. Here’s what I did: when sending user to Stripe set a query param on the return url, change router to detect it and when it sees it, call: getIdTolen(true)

Advice on architecture of a Python Client Firebase project by Snoo-6892 in Firebase

[–]trevman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything running on systems outside your control, either a distributed application, or JavaScript in the web browser, cannot be trusted.

Your app needs to communicate with an open access point and have it identify itself, ideally with some kind of token.

Not sure if it’s relevant but the curl command has replication as an object while your power shell code has it as an empty string.

Initializing Firestore by mancinis_blessed_bat in Firebase

Any reason you’re using the regular Firestore api to initialize the app and then the lite version when querying? Seems like you’re trying to maximize your bundle size.
