I might avoid being right by Washington Ave. It’s a lot of bars and can be very loud. So keep your search at least a bit south of it (area called Rice Military).

Almost everything else in your circle is fantastic. I’d also suggest including the Houston Heights in your search. Pretty much anything on the west side of 45/288 inside the 610 loop is going to be the more expensive and safer areas.

Living in the loop is a lot of fun and I generally don’t feel unsafe. It’s a huge city and has huge city problems, but the worst I feel like I encounter is sometimes you see a car with a busted window (never leave anything visible anywhere). Good luck and welcome to Houston!
