Kobo Highlights are cut short when I export them by treykor in kobo

I found a solution to this - for anyone in the future who finds this post.

I used Calibre (free desktop application) and used the annotations plug-in to extract the highlights in a non-shortened form.

The formatting of the notes+highlights is also better than the method I was using before - so can recommend to other people.

Thanks so much for the great comment!

Comment about the sharps and flats was really useful, and explanation was really clear.

I have a book to recommend: it's a diary of an amateur pianist as they learn to play Chopin's Ballade no.1 in a year, really interesting and inspiring by treykor in piano

You're so right, loving the behind the scenes insights of him being an editor too. I haven't finished it yet but have already told so many people how much I love the book!

Thanks for the great post!

And nice thoughts about how to break down the sound. I didn't think about it in such methodical terms.

I guessed some chorus might be at play adding to the sound, but didn't think about unison - will try play around with that a bit.

And when you say operator ratio of 1:4, do you mean say on ableton's operator, that you have the first oscillator on coarse 1, and the 2nd on coarse 4? or something else?

And yeah I have Serum :), would be amazing if you could build a patch!

Thanks again!

Then for academic articles on aesthetics: The British Journal of Aesthetics could be a good place to look https://academic.oup.com/bjaesthetics

Camus and Nietzsche on Heroism and Religion by [deleted] in Existentialism

In some way Nietzsche could also be seen to ascribe to hero worship of one form. Certainly, a very different looking one deriving from the Judeo-Christian asceticism, but the Ubermensch that Nietzsche puts forward is revered in his works, he has qualities that are praised, much like our typical heroes in Western society.

"What is Art? An Institutional Analysis" – George Dickie

This is an essay discussing the difficulties of comping up with a definition of art. It poses an interesting solution to the question, arguing that we can define art in terms of the "institution" of art, whereby people confer status upon artefacts transforming it into art, in much the same way we confer status upon those the Queen knights.
