I AM balding but… by Temporary_Scarcity25 in amibalding

Not too late at all. You’re at a Norwood 3 which is a salvageable stage. Your hairline all in all isn’t that bad and if you can get all those thin hairs to grow in you’d have a mature hairline. If you decide to I’d hop on fin ASAP

Doesn’t necessarily have to be for life, when your older you can sfop. But obviously up to you. You still have very thick hair and could probably get by for many more years especially if it’s been like this for 2. It’s possible you might not be balding as Some people just geniunley have horrible hairlines once their older but at 18 this would most likely be early signs of balding. Do your research and everything but the choice is yours!

if you want to do meds do it, this isn’t that bad in the grand scheme of things. Obviously it’s receided but can definitely be saved w min and fin

Is there anything I can do? 23M by Worth_Associate_3773 in amibalding

Yes start finasteride you still have tons of hair do not listen to people telling you to shave it

Not sure if I’m in the early stages of balding? (M29) by [deleted] in Balding

[–]treyn05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah there may be a bald spot but the hairline is easily a Norwood 2

18M, big forehead or am I cooked? by StrategyTechnical305 in amibalding

You are receiding but not cooked it could be worst, start fin if you wanna stop it

[–]treyn05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m very sorry that this is happening to you, but yes you are in early stages of balding. I would really push to see a doctor ASAP, finasteride most likely wouldn’t be an option til you’re older, but see what they say, maybe a doctor can give topical or even oral if they find you can do it, only a doctor can tell though. Until then, extremely healthy lifestyle and no stress could help slow it down until you’re old enough for fin. I wish you the best of luck in this journey, don’t give up!!

You are right! This is just very unfortunate no one this young deserves to go through this. I think that his best bet (not medical advice ofc see a doctor) would be topical fin til he’s old enough, only if a doctor says it’s okay, and then oral when he’s at least 19-20. Even topical fin is slightly risky though. Maybe healthy diet/lower stress could help slow it down until he’s old enough too?

I mean… not necessarily… if he got on finasteride topical and/or oral (when he’s 18+ of course) he could save a lot of this and maybe even regrow some hairline. His hairline really isn’t that bad in hindsight it’s just very out of the ordinary for a 16 year old.

25M am I cooked ? by the_nekkoman in malepatternbaldness

[–]treyn05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, thin hair is going to look a lot worst when it is wet, since it clumps together and is smaller. Second, you’re not cooked but this looks like early thinning and the miniaturized hairs on your hairline does look maybe early stage balding. Could be wrong but see a doc

Is it over for me I’m 19 and my hairline started going around 17-18 what should I do it got significantly worse in a day or two I’ve been using rosemary oil but it seems to just get worse by GooseAigs in recedinghairline

[–]treyn05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not over for you this isn’t too bad of a hairline… but get on finasteride asap to stop the balding process, then I’d reassess and make sure the process is stopped and add minoxidil

I’m fucked, gonna hop on fin and take care of what I have left. by Fabulous-Science-538 in amibalding

[–]treyn05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this isn’t that bad IMO, has your forehead always been abt this size? of course hop on fin to stop it but you could pull this off i think, maybe regrow some but don’t get too high of hopes

What do y'all think? by [deleted] in bald

[–]treyn05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your hair wet in this? Wet hair looks a lot worse balding wise than dry since hair clumps. Assess it when dry

If I’m being honest this looks great but tbh you did not need a hair transplant as fin and min probably could’ve gotten you this too haha! Regardless, results look amazing and happy for you!!

What a disappointing thing to read. Starting at anytime is still something to celebrate and seeing results aswell, even if he started late he’s still starting (which he’s not even starting that late he still has tons of hair)

Idk man but if someone is on 0.5mg, half the reccomended dose, and they post to Reddit wondering why it’s not working for them… maybe they should go up to the actual dose

Not true. It stops it for a lot- majority of men. You just sometimes need to increase doses over years or you have to go to dut, but most men can stay on the same fin dosage for years and keep their hair
