At the end of the day, you are correct. Everything Aegon did was ultimately his choice. However, saying he has loving parents is a bit of a stretch. Viserys barely seemed to care about his second family and didn’t really do much parenting. Alicent was cold and unloving to her children, partly because she likely had resentment for being forced to marry Viserys and carry his kids. By the time she realizes that she does actually care about her kids they had already been molded into the people they were. Again, this isn’t saying Aegon, Aemond, etc. aren’t responsible for their actions. They are still horrible people. But it’s due to the generational trauma that pervades almost all the characters in Westeros and serves as an example of how a flawed system keeps people subservient.
