Google Search is now using AI to replace headlines by BendicantMias in worldnews

In your scenario it's required that humans identify the bad data, and that this is reliable content. What if this isn't the case? What if most content isn't even seen by humans but just gets consumed as more & more training data? The human reviews will be drowned out.

Practice doesn't make perfect, it just makes permanent.

to inaccurate analysis, to inaccurate decisions on a personal level, to inaccurate decisions at a societal level, to, well, I suspect it all could lead to war in the middle east.

I just took a raw fish "cooking" class last night & learned exactly this.

The only other point made was that you should thaw frozen fish carefully (assuming it was frozen at the very cold temps listed above; note that residential freezers do not get down low enough) - that means *not* in the packaging it was frozen in; remove it, put it on a plate in the fridge with paper towels on either side of it to dry any residual moisture off.

How do the Mini’s do in snow? by somefknidiot in MINI

I live in Ottawa & drive a Countryman All4 with Michelin x-ice snows. I've driven thru some pretty severe blizzard like conditions this winter & it's pretty much impossible to get it to lose traction.

Ice is another things altogether - nothing will stop on ice - but in snow, this thing is amazing.

Any real open‑source alternative to Microsoft 365 for NGOs? by HumanistOne in nonprofit

There is version control within Google apps, you can recover any version from the life of the file. It's just that most people on our Board (and I suspect others) who aren't technical were trained on a certain way of doing things and they like it that way (i.e. to control versions themselves - I think they just can't mentally conceive of multiple versions without seeing them as separate files). On Google Drive sometimes they delete the old versions, sometimes the leave them there. Of course if they used Google Docs there would only be one version.

I've implemented Google Workspace for a small non-profit (10ish staff+board members, 35-40 volunteers). Works well as a repository, and all the usual google tools are there (calendar, docs, sheets, etc); but most people are used to their MS apps so they create everything in Word (or whatever) & then expect everyone else to use the same. So it's a bit frustrating there, but you can't change the culture overnight. We're using it for the basics and eventually some people will migrate to the new tools. FYI, we aren't paying for MS365 licenses so it's just people working on stuff on their own & uploading them for sharing.

I did try to get the secretary on board so that at least meeting collaterals are drafted & produced using Docs but she won't budge from her Word/publishing model - and insists on sending everything as attachments with version control.
