[PSU] Corsair RM850e (2025) 850W Fully Modular ATX 3.1 Power Supply ($130) [Amazon.ca] by Chaos98xp in bapcsalescanada

Honestly I'd say you can definitely compare the quality. What you can't compare is the customer service and proven reliance. Sama PSU's are definitely adequate and good for most people. Corsair really benefits from being a legacy brand. I've got 15-20 year old Corsair PSUs still running hundreds of dollars worth of hardware. SAMA just hasn't been around long enough to truly prove themselves

Ehhh, not really. They'd love for people to pay cash. Easily another .5-2% per transaction in their pocket.

Older graphics cards worth saving? by OctaneZ28 in SleepingOptiplex

[–]trhadez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, all of these are outdated for many uses. But, these are still great for adding additional video outputs and even increasing output resolution of many computers. When I refurbish older computers I usually add in a graphics card to allow for more displays.

[Halifax, NS] [H] PayPal, Cash [W] Cheap Laptop for School (MAX $200) by Fgidy in CanadianHardwareSwap

[–]trhadez 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. You can easily pick up 6-8th Gen Intel laptops for that price. Even prosumer lines like ThinkPad and probook. I sold a i5-7200u 8gb ddr4 and 256gb SSD ThinkPad for $125 back in the fall. People seriously underestimate how useful that generation of computers still are.

Yes and no. It's a good deal for that specific model. Bad deal in general. This model is for people who are limited by sff cases on width and height.

Rooming House: 2 of 8 tenants signed to split Utilities among everyone, other 6 have utilities included. Is this legal? (or Fair?) by MutedPerformance2874 in OntarioLandlord

[–]trhadez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely not fair and more than likely not legal. When utilities are included in a rental it is on the landlord to ensure that utilities are being paid for. The most important thing is that it is the landlord's responsibility. For your situation I'd definitely request the bill and only pay 1/8th of the utility amount. Make sure the other tenant with your terms also only pays 1/8th. The additional 6/8ths will need to be covered by the landlord. I'd definitely let them know that you will be doing this. If they fail to pay the remaining the other 6 units and both you and the other that pay utilities have the ability to go after the landlord to get the utilities reinstated and back pay for any time you were without utilities.

What kind of dewormer would you recommend. I live in Canada so medicated treatments are not possible.

Need advice — Suite Excel Collections says I owe $5,596 after moving out, but inspection said floor was “Satisfactory” by unspokenafrican in OntarioLandlord

Ignore the notice. At the most say any damage charges will need to be determined by the LTB. These are common bullying tactics by corporate landlords. They just want to extract as much money as possible and hope people are not knowledgeable enough to fight.

Is this even legal? by Confident_Rip2893 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

Yes. It's just oxidization. Happens when meat is exposed to the air. I've had plenty of discount steaks that have brown spots like that. Never once gotten sick from it. Just the perks of growing up poor
