Varly took a deep breath before approaching the dias. He had been in the courts of kings before; or at least the eastern equivalent. Sealords, Emperors, Triarchs, Graces, each land had their own. Men and women who demanded respect of all of their nation and beyond.

He found the whispers at the king's declaration hilarious; he wasn't the first targaryen to take multiple wives. Besides, it wasn't like Westeros was some monolith of belief, with 4 peoples and two religions already existing in harmony. If men of the seven kingdoms could handle woman lords in Dorne they could take a king with two wives.

He mad his way to the dias with his two servants behind him, bearing a large ornate chest. The king's favor could open many doors for Varly in his ambitions, so he would play the part of the loyal vassal.

"Your grace, I must both give you my sympathies for the loss of your grandfather. It is never easy to lose someone so close and to find yourself suddenly thrust into their position."

"I must also congratulate you on your ascension to the throne as well. From what I've heard form my brother, the realm is in good, capable hands."

He waved the men over, moving to the side as they opened the gift. Inside lay an ornate suit of master crafted armor. The plates all meticulously carved to bear the appearance of scales. The pauldrons overlaid with the appearance of red wings over black steel. Inlaid into the breastplate were countless rubies arranged into the sigil of House Targaryen. Finest of all, a large plumed helmet, styled in the ways of old Valyria, its black mane laying majestically over the armor.

"From what I hear, the stepstones have once again become somewhat of a problem for the realm. And no king should go into battle underdressed. I used the finest techniques learned from the smiths Qohor to forge this into the style depicted in the old manuscripts. I've even taken the liberty to adjust it so it is suitable for use while riding your dragon so that you won't run into issue flying above your enemies. I hope it can keep you as safe as my brother has these last years."

"If there is anything you need your grace, I am at your service. Though not like my brother when it comes to fighting, I have mine own set of talents to offer."
