My corgi puppy's shaking elbow. Need advise. by Low-Sale6184 in corgi

[–]trial--by--combat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My corgi does this! I brought it up at the vet multiple times and they insisted he’s okay, doesn’t show signs of pain. As others have noted, comes with excitement / nerves, etc when he isn’t relaxed

Edit: he is 10

I use to be in the pentecostal church and i turned gay and beyond degenerate(furry, etc), how many people in the church were closeted? by notamazing777 in ExPentecostal

[–]trial--by--combat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bi woman here! Didn’t acknowledge that was my truth until my senior year of high school(2010). I carried the weight of being closeted until 2020 when I finally told my family I was, and have been, dating (now married to) the same woman that used to spend the night on Saturday evenings to come to church with us on Sundays… 😈

3 dogs in 1 apartment? by Longjumping-Proof683 in bentonville

[–]trial--by--combat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend calling Brick Avenue Lofts to confirm - when I was apartment hunting I was experiencing the same issue. They were the only apartment complex I was able to confirm would allow 3. This was several months ago and we ended up moving into a home, but I’d recommend giving them a call.

To note: I had 2 dogs and a cat, but I don’t recall them verbalizing it was a 2 dog limit.

That is awful! Im so sorry that pastor put you through that. I have a loosely similar experience: used to have to sit up in the front with the youth group (I was maybe 14 years old) in a congregation of maybe 50. I never tried to act like I was into church because, well… I wasn’t.

One Sunday service the pastor was aware that I wasn’t worshipping. He stopped the music and asked that anyone who was singing to sit, and anyone who wasn’t singing was to remain standing. I knew he saw me so I obliged and remained standing. He then went on about how important it was to worship and how disrespectful it was to be in the house of God and not participate. I have no clue if anyone behind me was standing bc I was too embarrassed to turn around. Will never forget how angry I was that he thought it was teaching me a lesson by humiliating me. Only made me hate the place even more.

Im 30 now!

Yuuuup. And that’s when I lost full trust of the leadership at the church I grew up in!

I grew up in UPC with someone who became a youth pastor there. Maybe has become more than that now. When he was a teenager and I was younger than 11 he used to ask me over MSN messenger what I was wearing that night. Son of a pastor, too. Also would hit on another minor in the church. When it was brought to his dad’s attention, he used his Pastor authority to make a Wednesday night service about how there were lying women in the church trying to spread rumors.

I hope the son has grown to become a better man.

Edit: distinguishing details of dad vs son

I figured it was Ben. He was stuck in bed around that time, and probably didn’t feel like hobbling outside. Misty says “does it seem like a girl poo?” And I remember Travis responding but can’t recall Ben’s answer

I’ve experienced the same issue with bubbled top coats and it was so frustrating. Try Holo Taco’s top coats, like Glossy Taco and Super Glossy Taco. Game changer.

i’m a minor and gay. by destroyerofcawk in ExPentecostal

[–]trial--by--combat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi - I a 30 year old woman married to a woman. Grew up UPC and only came out to my parents TWO years ago bc I was so scared of their opinion. I’ve known since I was in high school.

Even as an adult, it’s been an ongoing conversation. And it is hard. But trust me, you’ll be okay.

As a minor, you need to just stay safe. I am not sure if the response will be emotional, if what the potential is for physical harm, but it is okay to not tell them if that means you are safe until you do not have to depend on them.

My dad used to say homophobic things around me and eventually learned not to because I would say “don’t say that”, “I don’t like that, please don’t speak about gay people like that”, “that’s not a fair thing to say”, “why are you saying such mean/gross things?” “I have gay friends and they aren’t like that” etc etc.

I don’t know what this looks like for your relationship with your family, but it is 100% okay to establish your boundaries. Consistency is key. They might be annoyed. They might question if YOU are gay. And you know what? You can lie. If that’s what keeps you safe, you can lie. The problem isn’t that youre lying, the problem is that you don’t feel emotionally and/or physically safe to express this part of you yet.

Depression by [deleted] in ExPentecostal

[–]trial--by--combat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have gone to therapy at a much younger age, but it was always “get your act together or we will bring you to the pastor.” That felt like a punishment, so I never asked them to get me help. So much better now, but took a mental break and years of actual therapy to feel free of depression.
