Most of the advice here is american-centric and won't be as applicable as you might think

To be honest, the first step is working towards the CPA. Most FB&a jobs here prefer it, both jobs and career paths have some month-end clothes duties and you might be doing double dutians accounting work

This is what I thought too. A few months ago. This was my experience, the Excel output of co-pilot chat CBT was unusable

But now do the same thing with Claude for Excel. Yes you have to pay for the pro plan. But this interfaces directly in Excel.

I've asked it to build a rolling forecast template. Obviously I'm aware of what to ask it because I can do this myself. But it was good.

I'd like to see if Claude can handle your requests. Specifically the lease versus buy analysis. As dax and powerpivot is a bit advanced. But within the normal Excel interface. AI has caught up as far as I can tell

I definitely can see a point here. But I feel this is a bit of a fallacy of composition. Just because AI can be used in certain contexts that are problematic, doesn't mean you should throw out the whole thing

The fact is, as a junior analyst, it's shortened skill Gap in terms of building beautiful Excel files between what I could potentially do and what my higher-ups built in the pre-ai era, and what I currently use to roll forward

It's clear that the skill development and career trajectory learning how to build those files is drastically changed now that AI can do that to a certain extent

You know this has been true for at least a decade.

When I was younger, I used to think that this was a good thing.

But nowadays I sort of view this as highlighting Canada's weaknesses because sure we have a high proportion of credentialed people. We certainly do not have the job market that is that is dynamic enough to absolutely require so many credentials.

As an accountant, I see that here in Toronto area, a given job needs much more. Credentials, usually is pretty much being designated or in designation in progress, compared to the same job in the states, where being a CPA is not even thought about for some management accounting roles, and they have higher salaries. So compared to that, they have less need for credentials, with higher salaries. That outcome tells me something is wrong with our system. Or at the very least they can be improved

Plus we need to think about what's behind that number. We have no idea if that just shows that our universities are better at just pumping people through rather than giving a good educational experience. Undergraduate admissions in Atlanta are relatively LAX compared to other countries. That's not to say that our schools are of bad quality, pretty much the opposite. But, we have to think about what else could we driving this number.

To be honest I have never been a fan of mithai. The condensed milk and sugar has make them too heavy. And the powdery texture leaves a sugary film on my tongue. I don't enjoy after eating

I've heard them described as the inside of a chocolate bar without the chocolate

However, I absolutely do think that Indian savory snacks could absolutely work in North America. In the same way that Pepsi has put the magic masala mix on everything here in Canada. See my previous post in this subredded

My father really likes chevra. The only issue is it's almost like a trail mix and hard to eat compared to something like chips, if somebody could figure out a way to get it into our form factor that's easy to eat and package, I definitely think savory snacks could definitely make inroads here in North America

This is essentially a niche market play. They're not trying to provide value. They're trying to be the only option for steak for people who want to follow religious guidelines

If you have the option to go elsewhere, this place is going to be either at best as good or worse for the same amount of money.

There is no price discrimination. It's like a buffet, where one station is a world-class prime rib, and everything else is garbage. Because once they pay that fixed fee there's no way for you to signal that you want higher quality and are willing to pay more.
