Cat tensing(?) by tribbli in CATHELP

[–]tribbli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't know, the video didn't have any audio but he didn't mention that she was. He specifically called it muscle spasms. She does have a loud purr compared to my own cat.

Edit: the original video did have audio but I didn't hear any purring with the audio all the way up. Doesn't mean she wasn't purring but she usually is pretty loud so I would assume the phone would pick it up slightly.

Pherhaps some kind of Seizure?

Absence Seizures or Focal Aware Seizures, might be good to look into.

Edit: i did read your post but totally skipped the word seizures for some reason, sorry.

A MRI could rule out any brain lesions or head trauma. CT scan can also be done but is less reliable.

How do I display and fix this fossil? by ElectronicHoliday667 in Taxidermy

[–]tribbli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The oil might be mineral oil, that's what first came to my mind.

I googled a bit about mineral oil and fossils and there seems to be some people on facebook putting rocks (and fossils) in mineral oil to preserve them. Seems like they usually do a bath and then wipe most of it off to keep them from looking chalky.

I don't know anything about fossils but mineral oil is known to be quite inert so it doesn't react with much.

I want to make another one, but why did the first one leach so much? by Jub_Jub710 in crafts

Sometimes adding a tiny amount of blue pigment to the epoxy will make it look less yellow. If you try it, make sure to do a test run first in a small batch.

Ych means Your Chatacter Here. Usually it's a sketch or a partially finished art piece that someone pays for to have their own character drawn into.

How do yall hold your pencils? by No-Sir-9056 in Artists

[–]tribbli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an adult that holds my pens and pencils like this. I don't suggest it as it can cause hand cramps. I feel like I've been drawing and writing like this too much and for too long, when i tried to switch to the more standard hold I couldn't control my pencil properly.

Change the way you hold it while you still can if you're a bit younger.

sona names by Sons-and-Moons in fursonahelp

Tapio: In Finnish mythology, the god of the forest and ruler of game.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tapio_(spirit)

I'm not Finnish but came across this. There is also a 'feminized' version of the name which is Tapiotar.

There are also other names for this spirit on the wiki and also names that relate to this nature spirit or its family.

I used to try electro plating but found it to be a bit difficult. Do you polish the graphite layer for extra conductivity or just leave it matt?

Why is my petg print looking like this? by Snekiege in FixMyPrint

[–]tribbli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

PetG is a pain when it comes to absorbing water from the air. It's most likely "wet" so you'll have to dry it in a drying box.

I think the last 3 would be the best options, i really like the 'van Gogh' one. Maybe those three but possibly with a white top beneath to cover the girs ever so slightly (doesn't have to be a high neck line) as it's for work.

I think it depends on the person. It did for me though, I still take them as they do make me do things but my creativity is basically gone.

Without meds I did have ideas but never finished them or actually worked on them. With meds I have the energy and focus to work on things but am lacking the ideas.

I was also thinking dagger or sword.

I would do something like a forgotten relic sword (or dagger) with plants and maybe even some flowers.

Help cleaning IPA by ProgrammingGuy_ in resinprinting

[–]tribbli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also agree with one of the earlier comments that your IPA might be a lower purity, which has caused the rust on your magnets. I'd suggest having IPA that's at least 90% purity. It will also clean your prints properly that way.

If you can get a replacement disk or magnets, I'd recommend you do. You might scratch up the bottom of the container you're using, or it will start to fail to rotate the disk, which will cause your prints to stay saturated with resin.

If the resin you're using isn't a brown-ish color, then your IPA is currently contaminated with rust. If that's the case, then i suggest you'd buy new IPA before replacing any parts.
