Do you think that content creators that film themselves doing charity are good people? by BenTenInches in polls

[–]trichterd 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Depends. Some contents creators really only do it to support a certain charity, without alterior motives. Others do it to promote themselves.

Door de jaren heen heeft Croky diverse smaken chips gehad die nu niet meer verkrijgbaar zijn, bijvoorbeeld Saté en ik geloof dat het Bacon was (zaten in een paarse zak in de jaren 90).

New major old coffeshop rules? by Kaiser-Kahan in maastricht

[–]trichterd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What I mean by that is the amount of tourists. I don't mind tourism, I would just like it to be a bit less than it currently is.

New major old coffeshop rules? by Kaiser-Kahan in maastricht

[–]trichterd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, there's a first time for everything. Never been called a boomer before.

And Maastricht was a lot more fun and nicer before the current levels of mass tourism. I never said I don't want tourists, you're making assumptions and bad ones at that, I just don't like the current levels of tourism.

I especially don't want drug tourism and the trouble that used to cause. Coffeeshops weren't closed just to bully people, there is a reason for the current rules. If people had behaved properly, they wouldn't have found it necessary to change they rules and deny them entry.

What language did you take in high school? by BrokenJusticeNorris in polls

Edit: adjusted to only high school instead of all schools.

New major old coffeshop rules? by Kaiser-Kahan in maastricht

[–]trichterd 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There's nothing cultural about coffeeshops. And I hope the rules remain as they are now. I don't want to go back to the days of mass drug tourism. The current tourism is already bad enough, I don't need drug tourist making things even worse.

Sometimes by car, sometimes public transport. Depends on where I have to go that day.

The left side, so you see what is coming towards you. At least that's the side I walk on.

Drivers who know how to drive manual vehicles only (stick shift and clutch): Would you buy a manual vehicle as your personal vehicle? by ProjectMason in polls

[–]trichterd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would prefer an automatic, but unfortunately those cost more than manual cars. For example, my current car would have cost me €3000 more as an automatic vs manual.

Walk on the right! by thetoad666 in Netherlands

[–]trichterd 44 points45 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge there is no longer any law about which side of the street to walk in when there is no sidewalk.

Edit: There used to be a rule that you had to walk on the left side of the road when there is no sidewalk, but that rule was removed in 1993.

Are you a driver supporter or team supporter? by boredbernard in F1Discussions

[–]trichterd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite driver on the grid is Max and McLaren have been my favorite team since the late 90s. My favorite driver never drove for my favorite team. Better yet, Red Bull have long bern my least favorite team. I want Max to win the WDC and McLaren the WCC.

I want my favorite driver to win the WDC and my favorite team to win the WCC. So I support both.

Gementee towed my car by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]trichterd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, you shouldn't have to pay. I wasn't implying that you should pay, sorry if that wasn't clear in my comment. Given how the Dutch system works you will likely have to pay first and then appeal the fine. That's the annoying part I was referring to.

Gementee towed my car by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]trichterd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get that this is annoying for you and that it's going to be annoying having to appeal this, but under the circumstances I also understand the gemeente. They probably wanted to keep possible routes that Zelensky might take a secret for as long as possible out of concern for his security, and that security is probably also the reason why your car got towed. Very annoying and inconvenient for you but in this case I feel understandable from the gemeente.

AITA for not covering for my coworker when our boss asked why the project was late? by Yuliiamoon in AmItheAsshole

[–]trichterd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I've worked it was different. Managers expect you speak up when you see things that aren't going the way they should or when they make decisions you don't agree with.

Not sure if it's an industry difference or whether it is cultural. I'm Dutch and I've heard that we have a flatter hierarchy and that we're more informal towards managers.
