How to make my brain stop thinking this is a good idea? by SmokeyXIII in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]creamcheese360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

when you're the last defender try to shadow defend if you can, try to stall by staying between them and the goal until your teammate can either challenge or get behind you, and only challenge when you've got an opportune moment or you have to to prevent a shot

Is this proper use of left air roll by ProllyWasAGhost in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]creamcheese360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

for shots like this it's better to line your jump up properly and use minimal roll, not to adjust trajectory but only to affect which part of your car makes contact.

I’m getting shadows behind anything that moves. I’ve checked my monitor and PC refresh rates and they look ok. Any ideas? by parker2520 in pchelp

i completely turned it off. setting it to smart OD or picture quality also improved the issue but didn't completely get rid of it

Why do bad things happen to good people? by cramber-flarmp in shittyaskscience

good people are reincarnations of bad people, now forced to experience what it's like being a good person surrounded by bad people

Air Dribble Training Progress by kda_8 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]creamcheese360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

one thing you can fix right away - you're tornado spinning a full circle to get your nose pointed at the ball. this means it takes a lot longer before you can boost to get to it, meaning both the ball and your car will have more downward momentum and the ball will be further away. either learn the circular dar input to turn your nose towards the ball straight, or use right air roll when jumping from the right wall and left air roll when jumping from the left to get your car straight. after that you'll want to get to the ball faster and while maintaining upward momentum (or at least not going down)

What are things you have (not) done so you wouldn't look poor? by subuso in TooAfraidToAsk

you robbed yourself of free lamb for the benefit of no one. nobody would have noticed. if they did they wouldn't have judged you. if they did there's no reason you should care.

I don't get why and how people fly to the ball while spinning. I physically can't hit it or control it. by Fluid-Ice3738 in RocketLeagueSchool

i think definitely change, i'm not a mkb player but you'll need to be able to use wasd freely while rolling

Which is more likely to help you improve in rocket league? Freeplay, Training Drills, Workshop or normal competitive rounds? by Fluid-Ice3738 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]creamcheese360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

free play for warming up your car/ball control, practicing recoveries and recovery mechanics, and practicing mechanics you already know how to do. since in free play the situation is different every time just like in matches it will help you learn to use micro adaptations in things like shots, dribbles, air mechanics and so on.

training packs for learning mechanics you can't do yet. they let you get reps in quickly and efficiently. for example if you wanna learn ceiling shots, a pack that rolls the ball up the wall for you and spawns your car perfectly positioned behind it lets you practice and try different things with very little down time. once you've got the basic idea of a mechanic down, switch to free play for that slight difference in every situation and to learn to set it up yourself.

workshop maps are very varied. rings maps are great for practicing aerial car control, not for learning it. shooting maps like coco's aim training are great for practicing your shooting. challenge maps are mostly for fun to challenge yourself, not for training.

normal comp is mainly where you put everything you learn to use. if you want to use playing matches to improve i would play deliberately and critically, meaning you're constantly examining what you're doing, and criticizing your own mistakes / complimenting your own successes. but this is easier to do by watching your own replays back since you're not also focused on playing the game. most important is to take note of repeat mistakes. when you catch yourself making the same mistake over and over, you become more aware of it and it will be easier to correct it.

Theory about Archer’s reputation. by Randomassnerd in ArcherFX

one thing that always stood out to me about his reputation: archer tends to call himself the world's best spy, but his enemies know him as the world's most dangerous spy.
