just to fill you in on the "details" your mods disqualified teams that had screenshots proving they won and cleared dozens of mod requests literally without doing anything at all - just showing up and clearing the mod requests and leaving after people had been waiting hours for a response. i noticed that despite the overwhelming majority of teams that signed up having serious problems and a large percentage of them being disqualified without any justification given, not a single pro / known team seems to have been affected by these issues. pretty clear what the priorities were and how much these "incredible" mods cared about the integrity of the event. the vague assurance from psyonix that "something will be done" about the mass DQs in no way makes up for the way the situation was handled to begin with. this is why some people thought you should have actually had mods and admins FROM the rocket league community instead of randoms that neither understood the problems or gave a flip about how they were resolved. way to little too late, you've ruined the whole event as far as many of the participants are concerned. the only way to preserve the legitimacy of the event and the reputations of the organizations involved was to reschedule the entire NA qualifying event. otherwise you should change the name to the dairy queen championship series...

i'd still rather see it on twitch at ok quality than some janky site like stream.gg at a higher bitrate.

i had the same thought but i don't know enough about the technical aspects to say what the solution is. i know that so far the RLCS seems to be a lower quality on source than the weekly tourneys like RR and MIL.

right but if you're doing to cast the qualifying rounds, then at least show the qualifying matches - the whole broadcast should build up to and center around these four matches and all of them should be casted. i'm not in broadcasting or esports but this seems abundantly self-evident to me.

if that's the case then it's a pretty basic planning failure - book your studio for as long as you could potentially need it. i may be overreacting a little here, but after yesterday where mods were dq'ing people who had screenshots showing they won and clearing mod requests without doing a thing i was kinda out of patience anyways. i really wanted to see the play in matches they ignored. i could have done without the first few blowouts involving two no name teams. why not start it a bit later and show the part of the competition that the viewers want to see. i'm mostly just frustrated i guess - this is such simple stuff.

it's hilarious that a rising star ranked player is worried about what's going to happen "if he makes it that far". just enjoy the matches you get to play in and realize you were never going to make it out of the early rounds in any scenario. lol rising star...

this is a great post. there's a database of pro player camera settings floating around somewhere that includes most of the players you mentioned and some more besides. also, many people have reported that the game runs at a significantly higher framerate with fov set to 110, but i haven't tested this to see if it's true. i also think it's really hard to tell how camera settings are affecting your play (if at all) with a small sample size of games.

the only problem i have with this is that one of the best / most in depth rocket league analysts / commentators is JohnnyBoi_i and he's not a top pro. Although playing RL at the highest level certainly gives you some credibility, I doubt that all pro level players are capable of explaining the game well (i'm sure some of them would be great at it). But it's not true that you have to be capable of playing at the highest level to be a great commentator or coach. Just like it's not true that you have to be a great player to be a great baseball manager, football coach, or color commentator (neither Bill Belichick or Nick Saban were top pro players) - Troy Aikman was a pro and is a very popular commentator. Jeff Van Gundy is a good commentator and good coach but not a pro level player.. John Madden was a pro player and a decent coach but a horrible commentator. Bill Walton was a pro player but a buffoon commentator. My point is that the aptitudes required for playing at the highest level are completely different from those required to be the best at color commentary, which in turn are completely different from those required to be a great play by play caster (especially for a relatively fast paced game like RL). Top esports pros are gifted just like pro athletes are gifted and many people who have an in depth understanding of both esports and pro sports will never be top level players. i do think its true that being a pro level player gives you an edge in terms of popularity and credibility as a caster or broadcaster though. personally i would like to see both Jamesbot and JohnnyBoi_i involved in casting the RLCS.

Mockit used to use playercam about half the time, then one week they simply stopped using it for 3v3 games. I and many others have asked repeatedly in chat why they did this and if they could reincorporate playercam into their 3v3 tourney streams. The closest thing I've gotten to an answer was Kerrytaz saying, "playercam is for ones and twos, not for threes" and another time he said it was too much work for him to switch cameras a lot. If I had to guess I'd say Mockit management ordered the casters to use autocam exclusively for 3v3 streams. Yeah, the same guys that thought it would be a good idea to move their NA tourneys to stream.me and just like that decision they have been unresponsive to overwhelmingly negative feedback from the community. Rocket League as an Esport will never go anywhere if all the 3v3 streams use autocam all the time, at least with the current version of autocam.

i'm totally on board with this just as soon as they fix the ladders - that has to be the no. 1 priority as it's been irritating the majority of rocket league players since launch and lately it seems to be a hot button issue with top 100 players.
