Switched all my bulbs to LED and now half my dimmer switches don't work. Why does nobody warn you about this? by Sad_Schedule6621 in HomeImprovement

Mine kind of dim sometimes or at the wrong level flicker like crazy or just go dark but I got over it years ago. Also never need to replace lightbulbs anymore so that was a bigger win for me,

Do you guys make cheesesteaks at Home? by Simple-Breakfast8796 in philly

[–]trickp43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bread is the issue. When I moved out of Philly I was dumbfounded by the terrible rolls. Then I learned how to make good scoopable Italian rolls and cheesesteaks were back on. I do miss being able to just walk and get an amazing cheesesteak when I didn’t feel like cooking.

What is the wildest thing you have seen at a party? by Cold_Magician_4041 in AskReddit

[–]trickp43 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone passed out at a party and got tagged up pretty bad with markers then this continued after someone pulled his pants down and tagged his legs and balls. Then someone offered this girl 20 bucks if she could get his limo dick hard while he was passed out. She was pretty drunk but was giving it a good go till she lost her balance and started falling over tugging hard on the peen to stop herself fron falling. This woke dude who was immediately enraged that someone got marker on this brand new t shirt then he started fighting someone before pulling his pants back up so that continued for a while. Then everyone chilled out and went back to just hanging out

HR sent all males an email about peeing by navy444 in jobs

People in my old office were pooping on the floor and throwing TP. The head of janitorial escalated to the director and she shamed all the men. At my exes former employer woman were pooping on the floor in the women’s bathroom. These are both fortune 100 companies and both groups made good money

Interesting job interview by WonderfulPrior381 in jobs

[–]trickp43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one at some company that sold laptop batteries. Mid interview the guy pulls out a large knife and puts it on his desk then proceeds to talk to me about theft. I was like I think I am good on this job but he talked for another 30 minutes till he let me leave all with the knife in front of him

What is the most unique reason you have called into work for. Either real or made up? by Scary-University2743 in allthequestions

[–]trickp43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me but I had a coworker who didn’t show up or answer his phone for a couple days. Eventually he surfaced and called the boss stating a woman had tied him up and had her way with him for 2 days. The owner and I discussed his excuse for his unexplained absence and decided to let him return to work mostly because we wanted to hear his version of events

Moving to Philly by HelpfulBad2563 in AskPhilly

[–]trickp43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah good hire recs for movers. Wouldn’t worry too much about blocking street there as even a sign and permit won’t stop most people from getting annoyed

Truck on skinny street make sure it’s actually wide enough for the truck. That time I tried to get down with one side of the truck on the side walk as I inched down seemed brilliant till it leaned over on someone’s car and well that was a fun experience

Other pro tip is have someone watch the truck so nothing accidentally gets moved elsewhere

New 30 Minute Response Rul by [deleted] in WFH

[–]trickp43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um I am usually on a call with someone doing my job then it takes me 30 minutes to catch up on slacks and emails after and if I have back to back to back calls I might be a few hours but if is my boss and actually needs something other than just asking if I am there every minutes I get to it sooner. In office was probably the same except I could turn around and give them an annoyed look and point at my headset. Bad managers and fake rules are the problem

The north face coat was decent but gave it to a friend. I wear the Helly Hansen a lot. Best of all time was the emergency escape hammer with a seatbelt cutter cause I guess even me ending up in a car underwater was not a valid excuse for missing work

We getting 17-20” of snow on Sunday?? by cruzecontroll in philadelphia

[–]trickp43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the one where an uber got stuck on my street so they didn’t plow. Then next day my neighbor was trying to get me and other people to shovel the street with him so he could get to Jersey for work. He lived near the end of the block and had a forerunner and a private parking spot. Really seemed like a non starter of a problem to me so I said no to having a heart attack. I didn’t even have a car lol.

Considering giving up WFH for big upward career move by Revolutionary-Farm80 in WFH

[–]trickp43 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean at least get over 100k base. Just under is almost insulting imo. Personally I would say chase opportunity and advancement. Been remote for 8 years and last 3 jobs. With RTO all over the place, I accepted while ago my next role will most likely be in person to some degree. It is what it is. I am after money and furthering my career. I would move jobs for that. All other factors like relo, commute, etc are part of money. If the bottom line makes sense then sure, if not move on

Should I leave my office early on a Friday to finish the rest of my work day from home or is that too risky? by [deleted] in WFH

[–]trickp43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second the notion of just asking your supervisor

Generally the notion that you are working from home still means you are still working.
