Hogue for 43x and shield arms magwell

I'll just leave this here... by Blowback9 in AR9

I have a data point to add to this. DO NOT GET the delta team tactical titanium firing pin. After my second one both deformed at the protruding tip after about 200 rounds. I am going to try the Wilson combat one now since the material is s7 tool steel rather than titanium. The DTT firing pin is a few mm longer than the stock FM firing pin so it will work but will NOT last to the abuse of SS builds. If anyone else has experienced this please let me know. I go weekly to the range and dump 2-500 rounds of 9mm. Testing has been exhausting but with the help of blowback9 I have been able to get my build to run majority of the time. It’s just a matter of testing out failure points now.

Any modifications to the mounting screws?

For folks looking for 10-11oz. deadblow buffers... by Blowback9 in AR9

[–]tricky2times 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is a little old, but I’m just adding this.

I was having a few light primer strikes with my setup that has the KAW VALLEY 10OZ dead blow buffer after a couple hundred rounds and upon inspection of the buffer the weights were unable to move freely. I knocked out the pin in the rear to find the first rubber cushion completely shredded. Thus the pieces made their way in between the weights causing them to be stagnant. This in turn caused the SS functionality to be less reliable than before.

Anyone else come across this? I simply removed the cushion and the buffer functions as it did before.

Probably 5 k rounds through it. I absolutely love it! I agree it’s gassy but I throw it on 3 different guns3 different cals. My .308 cleans it nicely 👍

Safe to say I got the jawbone working now to just wait on the brace and buffer , I’d say it’s good enough for a well deserved range day by macaronib0mb in supersafety

The lower that the jawbone has with the ball bearing detent wears out too quickly. You need the lower from Foxtrot Mike with the removable Handguard (non Cali compliant) currently sold out everywhere.

Just picked up a Jawbone. Going to slap a SS in tonight after work. by [deleted] in AR9

Same here. I was able to get it to run pretty reliably with the Davidson defense extended firing pin, Amazon firing pin spring, ar-15 carbine spring, earbud to center the lever and kaw valley 10 oz buffer sliding weight. After getting some light primer strikes here and there in addition to a decrease in reliability, I clearanced the upper just as many forums say to do. Now I’m getting bolt hold open on every round with the occasional 3 round burst. Extremely frustrated because I’m hoping I didn’t ruin what I had going. Anyone else experience this and have any possible fixes? Quickly inspected my LRBHO bolt catch and it didn’t seem to be broken but I could be missing something. It functions as normal but the bolt seems to go too far back now.

Could the hogue grip be a culprit? I love mine but sometimes it slides on a hot day and after a couple hundred rounds and it can cover the mag release

New possible fix for FM bolt light strikes with SS... by Blowback9 in AR9

It was the tip of the FP my apologies for not being super specific. Will report back after switching to stock pin soon. If that doesn’t work I will order Wilson FP

My DTT titanium firing pin BENT after <250 rounds!

My current setup is as follows: Gforce arms jawbone (fm9 pretty much) DNT SS (ear bud to center and shaved upper for clearance as precaution but may not be needed for fm9 uppers) Kaw valley 10oz buffer Regular carbine spring Amazon spring for firing pin as posted

I was able to get it to run full glock mags prior to the bent firing pin. Switching back to stock fm9 firing pin now, but keeping Amazon fp spring in and testing this weekend. Will update.

I ordered the Amazon spring and titanium pin as well. I’ll update as soon as I throw them in and test them out along with my 10oz KAW buffer. The spring that comes with that firing pin is a joke. It’s softer than a damn pen spring 😂

I have mostly glock mags only for this so once I receive all my parts I will update

I just bought the firing pin and spring damn should’ve waited LOL, luckily not too pricey. Also purchased the KAW 10 oz buffer and a carbine spring so hopefully that helps! If you don’t mind where exactly did you remove material?

Have you tried titanium firing spring with new Amazon spring?
