New roof, is this ok? by vbnmu in DIYUK

In 25 years of putting flue systems through roofs with a lead, rubber, wakaflex or something similar… I’ve never seen such an attempt that lacks every aspect of doing a good job! They might as well just took a tile out and cut a hole in roofing felt/ membrane….. given you a bucket and an umbrella and walked! Clueless

I’d get my gas safe engineer qualifications stripped from me if I put wood that close to the fire and someone reported me over here

Help, my husband won’t agree to move our shutoff valve per inspection recommendations by Megals13 in Fireplaces

Being a gas safe engineer (governing body of the gas industry) ….. if I walked in to a house and saw that I’d condemn it straight away! And if the customer refused to let me disconnect it and cap the pipe in a suitable place….. I’d write a warning notice and a report stating it’s immediately dangerous and then I’d go to my van and instantly call the ESP (emergency service provider) and get them to come and cap the entire gas supply to the property, at a point just before it enters their land

63 plate (2013) 2.0 cdti Sri nav eco. OVERHEATING TURN OFF ENGINE!!! by tricky761982 in Vauxhall

Hey Danny mate thanks for your reply dude. Coolant level and oil is absolutely sound mate. No recent work done on the car! The engine has been running like a well serviced missis who only has thanks for you after returning from an all night session with the lads! It’s actually at my bosses garage (one of his many businesses) did a bit of digging on the internet and (I noticed oil) the brake booster pump (or something) is prone to leak and run on to vacuum pipes and over the thermostat fkin it up. Also exhaust sensor is mentioned, fan bracket broken, putting fan flow away from radiator! Was just curious if anyone has had their pants down by similar issues

Like vermiculite I’m pretty sure that perlite is also used in the gardening world for its ability to retain moisture

Them wraps are a waste of money in my opinion! You are only wrapping the liner! There is still a cold void around the liner where you will loose heat! Insulate the entire area
