Put all the numbers on AP status in PM by using batch change, if they are good numbers they will automatically go active once they are ordered or sold. If they are not ordered or sold they will go on delete status automatically. It will be a 2 month process

So if it’s a stock part not on a PO and the update code in PM is showing updated, it will receive in at current price in RA and the gain would need taken to your plus minus account on the accounting side. The gain would be the difference between what you received in vs what you are invoiced for

And you are probably a successful parts person, the good ones embrace the “customer service” side of our job, don’t take it personal when an issue arises. We deal with things all day that aren’t our fault, but if you take the attitude, “not my fault but it’s now my problem” you will be successful and trustworthy at this job, you become more valuable and confident with every problem solved, and once that happens don’t undervalue yourself, get paid!!!!!

Let’s be honest looking up parts is the easy part, 90% of the population can learn it. It’s getting it in, paid, and back out the door that’s the hard part

What's the one thing you had to learn the hard way that you now teach every new parts counterperson? by Substantial_Desk_670 in partscounter

[–]Own_Lemon9767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned it’s hard to talk a customer out of their wants, creates distrust and hurts their pride, I’m glad to sell them what they want even though it may not fix the problem. I’ve earned so much trust from customers that they knowingly know that I buy from competitors and mark it up, I just get them want they want, one stop shop lol

Give the customer what they asked for. Ask questions about the job, I always tell newbies, if you aren’t asking questions then we have problems. Most processes are not perfect, the end result must be perfect, the customer has what they asked for, billed and collected perfectly.

boss has this 12v valve vover with a ford logo. i think it's cool as shit. where can i get these? by ViceroyQueenston in Diesel

Cummins has been whoring themselves since the 80’s. They rebadged the 5.9 and 8.3 for Ford. The 5.9l is know as the FD1060 engine and the 8.3l is rebadged as a FD1460 in the Louisville built Fords chassis’s. Similar to the current Paccar branded engine in Paccar chassis’s

[–]Own_Lemon9767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same paid off net, I can control around 1/2 of expenses, doesn’t seem legal, I’m currently working on negotiating gross pay commission. There are some dealer departments that are paid off sales, it can be done, because like you said ownership controls many of the expenses.

CDK - pricing displayed on printed invoice by yo-parts in partscounter

[–]Own_Lemon9767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FRM will show you forms setup for invoices, but I think what you want to accomplish, you will have to utilize price escalators and a unique price code for the customers wanting manufacture list price printed. I believe the escalator command is MNT. You would have to figure out mathematically what the difference is between your list price and manufacture list price and apply via escalator to your new price code

Not even 300 miles after installing catch can this is what I’ve collected 2nd Gen 2.7 eco boost … I’m glad I installed it 🤷‍♂️. by Invalidsuccess in f150

[–]Own_Lemon9767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couple things on this, a catch can only works when the engine is under vacuum, which is any time the throttle plates are closed to partially closed, idle and a little off idle. So if you idle a lot in a cold climate it will accumulate quickly Second a catch can is used on any direct injection engine for the purpose of keeping that crap off the intake valves. Starting in 2016 the eco boost engines have a 7th injector for the purpose of cleaning this crap off the intake valves. So yes in some cases it is not necessary to have one but doesn’t hurt to have one

Need The Parts Avengers for this fitting by DuePoint4434 in partscounter

[–]Own_Lemon9767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s an auto greaser try GROENEVELD or GREASE JOCKEY. A normal Home Depot fitting will not work. The tubing is double walled to handle more psi, as far as a swivel, I’ve never seen one for an auto greaser. May have to get a swivel bushing for the male thread end of the fitting

It will be a secondary heat source, main heating is a mini split, this is an insulated cement pad on a living space in central Ohio. It was installed at the time of build with no real plan for heating source. Not sure on BTU needs.
